Hi there I took out a £25K loan over 5 years with my bank - The Royal Bank of Scotland and signed paperwork (which I no longer have copies of as I paid the loan off early). I know I would not have taken PPI if I was offered it as I was in a secure job with the health service and had comprehensive sickness pay. I did ring the bank after a year as I thought the repayments seemed high. I was told at this point what my repayment was and how much the PPI was ! I said I did not ask for PPI and wanted to canle it and they then sent me more forms to sign and the £100ish per month disappeared off my repayment amount each month.

How do I stand here ? Should I use the letter template to get the original loan agreement ? What do you think my chances are ? I am coming from the angle that I was not told anything about the insurance over the phone when I spoke to the banking advisor in the first place and was not told it was included in the repayment ?

What was the purpose of the loan? Was this a single premium policy? Cheers

Hi Sorry i am new to this and not sure yet how to set a new post, i was wonderin if any 1 can help me claim my PPI or where is the best plae to go for help, i have used the templates on here as i believe that have have been misolded PPI, my partner and i took out a blackhorse loan in 2006 as i worked part time the loan was based on my partners self employed wages, after my partner came out of work i tried to process a claim to PPI to cover my payments as he was in eligable for any benefits due t self employment we could not provide any proof to PPI so therefore worthless, i have cancelled the policy and wrote to BH for a refund due to this reason. They sent me a copy of the paper work that we accepted the recommened product, which we did do was a worthless product and denied my claim, where do i go from here please ?

    thanks :)

    Hi and welcome

Can you ask them to reconsider and give them any further information?
Did they actually confirm it was the final decision?
If not do the above and ask them to reconsider, if then by the final decision they still don't accept liability they should enclose details of the Financial ombudsman service (FOS), you can then make a complaint to them.;)

Just because they sent you a copy of the signed and accepted, it does not mean you don't have your reasons, tell them that too. And not only that was the part for ppi hand-ticked or bank automated?
Hope this helps, please keep us posted, good luck.

Who was party to the ppi? Did it cover just your husband for accident sickness and unemployment or did it cover both of you? The person that was covered, what was there employment status at the time they took it out? Was this a single premium policy? What was the purpose of the loan? Cheers

Hi there, dont cancel the insurance its own,get your claim in for mis sell, if you win the loan is restated without ppi and your monthly repayment reduces by the ppi amount each month. If you cancel then you have to take a new loan out maybe at a higher rate of ppi and longer term.Put a letter in for mis sell . good luck with this and keep us posted x

Hi, A quick update, my PPI claim against HSBC was put on hold due to the legal review, I contacted FOS who advised me to continue my claim through them.
Last week while collecting documentation I realised that my loan agreement copy did not have the PPI box ticked and there were no signatures on the loan agreement, I have sent all documentation to FOS and loking forward to a satisfactory conclusion.

    Hi

I wondered if you could advise whether I could pursue a claim for PPI against Norton Finance, I took out a loan with them in 2002. Is 2002 to far to go back? Although I took the loan out over some years I was in a position to pay it back after a couple of years but still paid PPI.

    Thanks

    Hiya

Was it Norton that sold you the account as a broker?
If so then you pursue them, give it a go anyway, good luck.
