Thanks for your reply can I still pursue it then even though more than 6 years has passed. Yes Norton sold the account me on behalf of someone else.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi

I understand there is a thing called time barring, but I am also aware that people who have only just discovered about the mis selling are tryiing to make reclaims on their mis sold ppi, even from earlier years.;)

Thanks I will give it a go; just one more question if they say no due to the length of time would you pursue it through the FOS?

    Thank you

If Norton were covered by the FSA when you taken out the loan, you can ask the FOS to investigate, but otherwise they are unable to unless regulated at the time you taken out the loan, but you could still get in touch where they may advise on another direction.:)

  • Hi, I took out an egg loan in 2006 for £5k. The loan is due to be repaid in 2013. On top of this, there was an amount of £2k for payment protection. I have cancelled the payment protection as I went on maternity leave and decided not to return to work - so the PPI was useless. This reduced my loan by about £900. Can I claim from Egg. I have filled out most of the FOS form and it is ready to send, but I am nervous about sending it - as I am still paying of the loan. Guess I am looking for a bit of support and encouragement in this matter and somebody to tell me I am doing the right thing.
    Thanks

Hi! What was the purpose of the loan? Do your have your policies terms and conditions? If so, what do they say about cancelling your policy early? If you were consolidating and rebate you received on your policy was not proportionate to the amount of time left on the policy then it has been missold. Don't worry about putting in a claim u have absolutely nothing to lose! Cheers
  • Right deep breath - I've never posted on a forum of any kind before so here goes (please be kind). I have scanned through part 1,2,3 & 4 (but there's a lot to read) so not sure if I'm repeating things. Has anybody had any dealings with We Fight Any Claim Ltd? I am pretty financially illiterate & have no idea about PPI's but was naively bamboozled into starting the ball rolling with them to investigate any claims we had but when they then asked for even more money up front I cancelled and asked for a refund - which is still waiting (fingers crossed it comes through I feel so stupid). However, if there is some money to claim back should I still go with them or try it myself? Is it a matter of going through everything in the last 6yrs to see if there is personal protection insurance on the documents then sending off the template letters, I dont suppose career development loans come under this too do they?
  • hi
any help will be gratefully appreciated , my claim has been ongoing against hsbc since last feb , bank rejected claim so it has been with the fos since last june .I spoke to fos today and my adjudicator has found the claim in my favour ( HOW LONG AGO I DONT KNOW ), but the bank still rejected , so now it has gone on to the ombudsman .Is this a normal stalling practice by the bank and how long can it be with a ombudsman ,and do they normally agree with the adjudicator .
    thanks

    Hi and welcome

As far as I am aware no matter what insurance it is, loan ppi, credit card ppi, catalogue ppi, car finance ppi, and so on, store card and even business loan ppi.

If mis sold you can of course have a go yourself, its quite straight forward really, just a matter of completing a reclaim questionnaire as shown on stage one below.
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#reclaim
Complete and send to the head office or if they have a complaints dept of whoever set up your account.

They have 8 weeks normally, but may ask for more time, but make sure you keep copies of everything in case you need to refer to them again at some point.

Good luck on your refund as well, hope you receive it soon.;)

    Hi Dean

Try not to worry, this happens a lot, and generally the ombudsman goes along with the adjudicators decision anyway, and remember the interest will keep adding up too.;)
    Good luck.

Hi, A quick update, my PPI claim against HSBC was put on hold due to the legal review, I contacted FOS who advised me to continue my claim through them.
Last week while collecting documentation I realised that my loan agreement copy did not have the PPI box ticked and there were no signatures on the loan agreement, I have sent all documentation to FOS and loking forward to a satisfactory conclusion.
Fingers crossed for you xx.Good luck.
