Hi Ken
I would do what you feel is best for you, I know its a difficult decision to make, but it maybe we could hear some news, hopefully good news in the coming weeks, or it could take longer.
Have a read of the guide posted up by the FSA maybe this will help you decide.;)

Hi the original response letter to my complaint/request they investigate sale of ppi was that as a result of their investigation and the available information, they were not able to establish whether I was provided with sufficient details to alow me to make an informed decision when the policy was taken out. They offered me £431.29 refund including interest of all the premiums paid for the PPI element of the loan. They arranged for the PPI to be removed from the loan. £390.90 was total monthly payments I had made and interest amounted to £40.39. I accepted this offer of redress.0

Hi there, did you win mis sell for this ppi, and if you did have you got the breakdown of what they actually gave you back?. If you win mis sell then they must put you back to the position you were in had you not taken ppi, this does not extend your loan term or apr.

Hi there I took out a £25K loan over 5 years with my bank - The Royal Bank of Scotland and signed paperwork (which I no longer have copies of as I paid the loan off early). I know I would not have taken PPI if I was offered it as I was in a secure job with the health service and had comprehensive sickness pay. I did ring the bank after a year as I thought the repayments seemed high. I was told at this point what my repayment was and how much the PPI was ! I said I did not ask for PPI and wanted to canle it and they then sent me more forms to sign and the £100ish per month disappeared off my repayment amount each month.
How do I stand here ? Should I use the letter template to get the original loan agreement ? What do you think my chances are ? I am coming from the angle that I was not told anything about the insurance over the phone when I spoke to the banking advisor in the first place and was not told it was included in the repayment ?

Hi Lisa
Give it a go with your account number, you don't actually require the paperwork as such to make a reclaim, just as long as stated you have the account number and your reasons.
However, sometimes they send a copy of the agreement back with a letter when you make a reclaim but not always.
If you do require the agreement just write a simple letter, enclose a £1 cheque or postal order, and ask they provide you with a copy of the CCA by 12 days of your letter, its up to you of course.
To make a reclaim, a questionnaire replaced the template letter, complete and send to the head office or complaints dept if they have one (of whoever set up and sold you the account).
Remember to keep copies of everything in case you need to refer to this again at some point.
They normally have 8 weeks to give a decision, but may ask for more time.
The reclaiming questionnaire you will find on stage one on link below, good luck.
