PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Hi there, there are a lot of people who hope this goes in the favour of the public,as they will have to continue with claims as usual. The banks may very well think of something else to hold these claims up (i would not put it past them) but all any of us can do is wait and hope.First hearing is tuesday.Quick question guys.
If the court case falls in favour of the people, what would actually happen? Would the banks suddenly start to deal with cases or do you think they will start other delaying tactics?0 -

"Unfortunately, we can no longer abtain copies of your loan agreement. This documents are kept for a maximum of six years".
However I do know that I had PPi ttached to the loan. I know how much I borrowed and what I paid monthly, unfortunately do not know how much of it was for PPi. Can I still fill in the reclaiming questionaire and send it in?
Hi there
That is fine, and as amersall says as long as you have the account/agreement number that is fine, you can still continue to make a reclaim, they will work this out themselves, so no worries there, many of us have made reclaims without having the calculations.;)
However, if you succeed, you can then ask them for a written breakdown on how they come to the figures. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Do you know if anyone has had a succesful claim against the Halifax for missold PPI on either loans or Credit cards as I have both.
I'm not sure if i was missold or not to be honest, the person on the phone asked me rather a lot of questions and ended with something along the lines of "...we think you need insurance, do you agree" I said yes so going of that I was probably wasnt missold, however they do make it sound like your not going to be sucessful in your loan/cc application unless you agree, so just wondering if anyone had had a similar experience and how they had got on.
Apologise if this question has been asked before but I've stumbled across the PPI think by accident so thought i'd ask.
Thanks in advance for any help

you will find all the help on this link, and reasons you may have been mis sold. You can use the template letter or write a letter in your own words, saying you were mis sold this ppi because.. and give your reasons, people have had wins with the halifax, so if any reasons apply to you then send your letter off. Give them 8 weeks to respond and take it from there. If you need any help just yell.0 -
I have a question too about Halifax Credit Card. I no longer have the card. Due to my illness I defaulted badly with my repayments and ended on benefits. Told Halifax my situation and they were rather rude to me. During that time I was bombarded with charges for missed payments month after month eventhough I said I was ill and on benefits. I started a reduced repayment plan after I cut the card and returned to them. I have since made partial settlement with money left to me but I am still smarting from their treatment.
Can I still try to reclaim all the nasty credit card charges they threw at me for missing my payments?0 -

Hiya
So sorry to hear of your ordeal, its bad enough being ill, never mind them harrassing you.
Did you send them a letter to ask them to stop them ringing you (if they are constantly ringing you can ask them to stop doing this).
And did you also try sending a letter to ask them to freeze the charges due to the difficulties and hardship.
If you've not done any of the above, I would personally post on the debtfreewannabe thread (link below) and ask for advice on there, but there are template letters for the above.

And in regards of charges and for hardship reasons, I believe you can try making a reclaim, but post about this one on the reclaiming charges thread below.

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on or any probs, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"
