PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Hi there, how much was the ppi per month, and how many months did you pay this?. I would think they owe you a lot more than the "goodwill gesture" it is best to check that you are not owed anymore before you accept this amount. Example, if your ppi was £10 a month and you paid this for 72 months that equals £720, that is just the ppi with no interest back!! so it is worth checking this before you accept.geographygirl wrote: »Hi PPI reclaimers
My partner has been offered as a 'goodwill gesture' nearly £200 from Natwest to cover his PPI payments over the last 6 years. He actually cancelled the policy 2 years ago when he realised he couldn't claim as he is self employed and the policy was originally sold to him in 2001. He has had a big success with Nationwide who are returning all his payments plus interest for the whole time he had the policy. His claim for mis-selling has focused on the fact he was only employed on a temporary contract; Nationwide asked for proof of this and then coughed up!
Do we hold out for more from Natwest or accept the offer and be grateful? 3 of our other claims are now with the ombudsman as they have all been 'put on hold' - interestingly the RBS claim went to the same address as Natwest's but had a different response.
Thanks very much for any thoughts or advice on this.0 -

hi there
I would be very grateful if somebody could help me please
In 2007 i took out a loan with welcome finance, included in this loan was ppi, A while ago (i cant remember when) i cancelled this insurance to reduce my payment. I have no details or paperwork regarding this loan.
I dont know if this effects anything but over 12 months ago i was made redundant so i contacted welcome and they reduced my payments and froze interest on the account for me.
Can i claim the ppi back that i payed at the start, and i have tried to follow the guide but am completely lost in what i need to do and what i need to do first
i hope someone can help
kindest regards

Hi Matt and welcome to the site.
Yes you can make a reclaim on whatever you paid into the account plus interest.
It makes no difference if you cancelled this, but as long as you have your reasons for being mis sold then give it a go.
All you do is complete the questionnaire as shown on stage one of reclaiming, and send it to whoever set up your policy from the start, so if it were Welcome that set this up, its them you pursue.
Remember to keep copies of what you send and receive in case you need to refer to it again at some point.
They normally have 8 weeks to give a decision, but may ask for more time.
The questionnaire replaced the template letter on this site, any problems downloading it you can of course write a reclaim letter in your own words instead, ask for help if required.
You will find the questionnaire as state one on the link below.
Hope that helps, please keep us posted and good luck.

Hi Di3004,
Hope you are well.
Have you experienced delays at FOS recently? I sent my forms back to them on the 5th of January, the documents were received on the 7th but according to the lady dealing with my case, the documents have not been forwarded to her yet. Apparently, their office administrators are still sorting out December 2008 post. This whole delay is absurd, why can't they employ more administrators to sort out their incoming correspondence, one might ask.
If anyone has experience this please share.0 -

Hiya
Not too bad thank you, hope your well too.
I do understand there are very high volumes of complaints with the FOS, but this have also been the case for the last few years.
I am aware the complaints are very extreme going by posts posted by others, and I don't think it helps now due to the Judicial Review (JR) issue that is currently ongoing.
The first case of the JR is coming up next week, and this may go on for some days, but not sure how long it will take to resolve.
But despite that, normally once in with the FOS they timescales can be anything from 6 - 12 months, the waiting queue for it to be passed on to an adjudicator can take some time, infact probably the longest, and once its been allocated its go from there really.
However, some cases have been resolved within a matter of weeks if all going straight forward once within the FOS, as everyone's circumstances differ as well.
There is a system for fast tracking with the FOS, there is also a queue system for this, but if your eligible the case is then normally looked at a little quicker than normal.
If your in any financial hardship, or may have personal issues that affect your personal life, then it may be worth you mentioning this to the FOS.
Hope your case is resolved in early stages, good luck with this.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

I've just received a letter from egg today saying I was miss old but that they won't refund me until the jr is complete as they say they are unable to calculate the amount owed to me until this is complete. Is there anything else I can do at the moment or do I just have to wait?0
