  • Thank you amersall and di3004.
Will get those claims in the post.
I received a letter back from First Plus today, 8 weeks after my original complaint stating:
they have registered my complaint but they are waiting for material developments in the court case between the BBA and the FSA and will revert to my complaint once this has been resolved.
So off to the FOS now I guess as that just feels like I'm being 'put aside'.

I know I should be able to do it myself and there is a lot of helpful info/ templates etc available.
But for personal reasons I really do not feel up to doing this myself. :o There are lots of firms specialising in reclaiming and I know they will take a fee. But how to find one that is trustworthy and does not charge an extortionate amount?
    thanks

Regarding loan/cc number above. I believe i was mis sold ppi as
(then give your reasons) send this recorded delivery and give them 8 weeks to reply. How easy is that?.

We do not advocate claims cos on this site but if you really want to pay someone for writing a letter for you then
that is 25% comission you owe me for writing this letter:rotfl:. It is so easy to put a claim in and you will get all the help you need on this site. Give it a go, a company can do no more than you can but will take 25% plus, this is your money do not give it away.

    Hiya

Have you had the chance to read some of the threads where some have used claims companies and the hassles they have been having?

Someone i know of, her's have been going on for over 2 years, and now she have been informed they can no longer deal with her case, I understand the claims business may have stopped working.

And they will ask for this and that, that alone is hassle, to find paperwork, completing no end of forms, with just only one questionnaire to complete from this site, that is all you really have to do.

However, it is your choice, but I am sorry I am unable to suggest a claims company.

We are here to help if required.;)

  • Apologies if this has been covered before but I've done a search and couldn't find a similar story.

I got married a couple of years back and soon after discovered that my wife's credit card had PPI included. I didn't believe she needed it and she asked to have it cancelled. They (Nationwide) said that it was a condition of having the card and I left it for a bit. Now I've discovered this site, I realise that she might have a claim back to that point.

However when I asked her a bit more about it, I started to think she could claim right back to when she took out the card in 2003.

The circumstances were; she had recently come from Brazil and had been in the UK less than a year. She had poor English language skills when she arrived here and at the time she took out the card her English was described as 'intermediate', a level where someone can have discussions in English, but would struggle to discuss complex subjects. The credit card was offered at the same time she opened her first UK current account, and her original intention was to ask for a debit card. She has no recollection of having being given the option of PPI, just having the impression that all of the many sheets of paper being put in front of her were compulsory to sign.

It looks to me the Nationwide worker used my wife's lack of good English and confusion about opening a UK bank account to miss-sell PPI, so we are going to try and reclaim on that basis. But first it would be great to see if anyone on here would care to comment or give advice.
  • Hey Di
    Hope you are well

You have been so good with advice in the past, want to run this past you.

    Took a loan out in 2003 with first plus,usual PPI,that finished in 2008,got rebate,£6000.

However, unbeknown to me,they are still tagging on the payments for the PPI onto my loan payments which is still live

So,went for First plus who put the blame at Loans.Co Uk who apparently administered it or whatever.

Had a go with Loans .co. Uk

The usual nonsense from them but stuck it out, received a letter recently saying they had done nothing wrong and that was the end of it.

fair enough, under stress I took the PPI cause they knew I needed the loan but they never ever told me the payments for the PPI would be "tagged" to the loan for its entirety.

Any advice would be much appreciated as I am now losing the will to fight
  • Hiya

I just wanted to ask if anyone can recommend a good company to help me reclaim some PPI on a bank loan I believe was mis-sold to me some years back please, as I'm not confident enough to try and tackle this on my own. I've been contacted by a company offering to do just that, but they're asking for a cut of 39% if they're successful and Martin says you shouldn't go with one that asks for more than 25%. I've had a shop around and because there are so many out there, I wondered if anyone could please recommend one? I'd be ever so grateful, thanks.

  • Hello there

I'm new to this forum business so I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place? But I was wondering if anyone could please recommend a company that can help me reclaim some PPI I believe I was mis-sold on a bank loan some years ago. A company has phoned me to offer their services but they are asking for a cut of 39% if they're successful, but Martin said you shouldn't go with a firm that asks for more than a 25% share. So have you used one and been successful? Any advice?
    Thanks ;)

    Hi and welcome

In my opinion there is a good case here, unless someone can rectify otherwise.

So get a reclaim on the go now if you can, its just a matter of completing the reclaiming questionnaire, send it to whoever sold the policy in the first place, the head office will be fine.

Keep copies as well, in case you need to refer to it again.
They require about 8 weeks to give a decision, but may write back and ask for more time.

The questionnaire on this site replaced the template letter on this site.
And you will find this on stage one here:

Good luck, keep at them and please keep us posted, cheers.;)
