Hi Steve and welcome.
Good luck on your reclaiming and I hope you hear some good news soon.
I would give them a little over the 8 weeks, such as a further week, and if you hear nothing, give them a quick call and ask for an update.
However, you are in your right to complain to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) once the 8 weeks have passed and you hear nothing, but at this current time there could be reasons on why the letter have not arrived yet.
The snow is causing much delays to posting letters etc, but there is no harm in contacting them for an update any time now, just in case.;)
Thankyou for the advice!
I gave them a quick phone call today...
they said that due to backlogs, they are having trouble dealing with complaints within the 8 week period, and that I should be receiving a letter soon, stating this.0 -
Hi guys,
I took out a loan in 2006 with GE money which was transfered to Santander consumer finance. I did try and get a claims company to recliam my PPI but they came back with 'Santander have no record of PPI being purchased'
However, I contacted Santander and they sent me a copy of my loan agreement (which was settled in Jan this year) and I had purchased 'Cedit Protection Insurance'
Now, when I took the policy, I was asked if I worked over 16 hours a week - I told them sometimes but not all of the time as I am on a 0 hour contract with my employers. I can prove this. I was also a student at the time - studying over 12 hours a week which would class me as a full time student.
Should I pursue this PPI claim or is it dead in the water...any feedback appreciated0 -

Send your letter in your own words. if you prefer to do that, say you were mis sold this ppi because... and give your reasons. You could use the template letter if you prefer (this will be in the link i gave above), what ever is easiest for you. Send recorded delivery and give them 8 weeks to respond.Good luck and keep us posted.0 -
I will keep you updated, I will get xmas out of the way and give it a go....will I need to check the t&c's of the PPI as I only have got the wording of my loan agreement. Will I need to obtain the PPI details to make sure I was not covered
I am certain I am not covered as they pushed me to agree that I worked over 16 hours a week even though I explained I would be going to college and university.0 -
I could be mistaken, but i dont think if you work under 16 hours that you will be entitled to claim for losing your job, but may have been covered for death or other things. Write to your loan company and ask for a copy of the insurance t&c they will send you this.I will keep you updated, I will get xmas out of the way and give it a go....will I need to check the t&c's of the PPI as I only have got the wording of my loan agreement. Hi di3004,
I tried claiming PPI The Funding Corporation and they were not playing ball. They were extemely rude, so I decided to contact FOS, who advised that since the The Funding Corporation were not regulated by FSA in 2004, the way around this is to go through the underwriters. So she wrote a complaint letter to AXA giving them 8 weeks to sort this out. AXA contacted me (by correspondent) saying that they have assigned someone to deal with my complaint. They have until the end of this month December 2010 to pay or fight. I am hoping they will pay up because I do need the money.0 -

Hiya and the best of luck with this case.
Mine in regards of the underwriters - the FOS have already assigned mine to an adjudicator a few months back, but I have been informed if I do not hear anything beforehand, then I should hear from the adjudicator by the 21 Jan 2011.
I will keep you posted.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi Di3004,
Thanks for your reply. I await in anticipation to see how yours goes, I just hope its a positive outcome. Today is the 29th, and have not received anything from AXA, so obviously they are dragging themselves because it's holiday season and so hopefully, I will get a response in January 2011 too.0
