I spoke to FOS a week ago and they informed me that the insurance company is now PINNACLE Insurance and that my case is now waitin for an adjudicator to be appointed ....lets hope it doesn't take another year and 4 months!!!!!!!!!!!!

PPI claim is for single premium sold back in 2003/2004!!!

Thanks for the quick reply and happy new year.

I have already asked them to cancel the PPI payment, which they ageed was not nessasary and I have raise the issue of claiming back with the bank over the phone.
Would I need to send a letter as well or should I wait for a responce?

Also another anoying point is , I was sold health and life insurance from my select manager earlier in the year that covers all loans up to £50,000 for £17 per month.
Only because they canceled the product have i noticed the PPI, should my premier manager not have noticed this before selling me the new policy??

    Hiya

I would send a letter as well to be honest, and keep a copy, cos they may try to fob off your complaint, and not only that its best to have it in writing as well in case you want to refer to this again or complain to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) where is suggested to keep copies of everything you send and receive.

    Hi there

Wishing you luck with your reclaim and hope you hear some good news soon now that the new year is here.;)

One of my lenders were Endeavour like yours but not the same broker.

Keep asking the FOS for updates maybe on a monthly basis, fingers crossed.:)

  • Hi there

I'm very new to this forum but I've been a big follower.

When I graduated from university and got myself a job back in 2000, I was able to upgrade my student bank account and obtain the Lloyds bank mastercard. I was asked to tick in all the areas where there was an "x" beside it and to sign the agreements.

At the time, I did not "read before you sign" and did not realise that I had signed up to PPI. It was only a couple of years later when I spoke with a member of staff at my local bank, to enquire on what the PPI extra charges on my credit card statements were for. The response sounded valid to me at the time saying, "the charges are required to be added to your statement in case there was the risk of redundancy or was too ill to work and could not pay the credit card bills".

Do I still have a case? I've been trying to pay off the debt from the credit card but this extra charge is on top of the interest I have to pay as well.

    Thanks

    Hi and welcome

If you believe you have a case, then give it a go.

In my experience, I always assumed ppi was all part of the whole thing, with not knowing any different, but on the otherhand mine was already self ticked/crossed by the bank, and yet at the time I was just receiving benefits via for my children.

All you do is complete the reclaiming questionnaire, this replaced the reclaiming template letter on this site, if you want to write a letter instead or to enclose with the questionnaire, that is optional of course too, but it will have to be in your own words.
A Questionnaire is sufficient enough though.

The questionnaire is as shown below link, complete and send to the head office of where you taken out the policy, keep copies of all you send and receive in case you need to refer to this at some point.

They normally have 8 weeks to give a decision, but may ask for more time.
    Hope this helps, good luck.

Hi All - I have a claim in with Egg and received a letter over the Christmas period saying that they knew the 8 week period was just about up but they wanted a little more time although they knew that I was within my rights to go to the FOS.

So my question is, should I give them some more time, and if so how much?
