Hi all, i have never posted on here before so not sure if this is the right place, am after some advise
Have just been told by the financial ombusdman that my one claim i had tried to do, they cant help with as it was before the company were registered or something, anyway
I took out a loan with my ex partner in 2003, i believe we were mis sold the ppi, it was amde out that because our credit score was not brilliant, that we had to have it as we were risky. Also it was a joint loan but only my ex's name is on the policy.
I am going to try and claim it back. We split up jan 2007 and i have been paying it ever since.
Im not sure what to do, do i try to claim on the basis of my reasons above? Or try to cancel the insurance and get a refund as its in his name, hes not the one paying it?
I dont know what to do for the best, any advice or help would be very very grateful
Thanks in advance folks :undecided0 -

Hi there,
I used the printable form from the front page of Martin`s website. just follow the PPI ad`s used there and fill it in then send it to the bank but DO send it to the Head Office of the organisation you are dealing with and ALWAYS keep copies of everything you send and post it using RECORDED DELIVERY then you can check wether it has been delivered, day date and time...... also another piece of good advise given to me by Di was if you make telephone calls to them always take record of the people you speak to and which call centre they are at as you could call an organisation and get through toseveral different places and never speak to the same person ever again.
Good Luck and let us all know how you get on with your claim.
Be patient it could take a several months for things to get sorted.

If any apply to you then put you were mis sold this ppi because.. and give your reasons.Hope this helps. I am not knocking templates but they require a lot of attention, and if you have to go to fos then you have to fill another one in, so i cut out the middle man and write my own letter initially.0 -

Hi there
Did the FOS suggest another direction, such as the insurer/underwriter of the policy?
These would have been regulated and normally they suggest this direction if the loan business were not regulated by the FSA or prior to them GISC - at the time the loan was taken out.The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi there
As amersall says, to make a reclaim - complete the reclaming questionnaire that replaced the template letter on this site, as on the link amersall have posted.
Keep copies of all you send and receive as well, in case you need to refer to this again at some point.
They normally have 8 weeks to give a decision, good luck with this.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hiya
I would contact the FOS via telephone and mention about the underwriter/insurer, see what they suggest, but otherwise you could contact your local CAB and see if they can help on that one otherwise.
With Welcome, you pursue the ones who set up the policy for you (head office), and complete the reclaiming questionnaire here:

They have 8 weeks to give a decision, and keep copies of what you send and receive in the post in case you need to go back to this again at some stage.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi All
This is my first post, but have been reading / following advice for a while.
Have been persuing Egg for PPI refund on behalf of wife. Today received a letter from them stating that my complaint has been upheld. However, due to the "juducual review, there is uncertainty as to the rules applicable to how we should calculate any refund in relation to your complaint".
Basically they are stating that until the final outcome of the review they can not work out how much money to refund!
I have not seen this scenario elsewhere in the forum, and wondered if anyone has had similar experience and/or what should we do next?
Egg say we can go to FOS if unhappy, but not sure if this could lengthen the process
I had exactly the same letter yesterday from egg, it looks like they'll be using this to delay all of the upheld ppi claims from now on...
I imagine this will drag on for months now...
