Hi,
I've been checking out this site for over a year now and have been watching people's progress with interest.
I'm trying to reclaim PPI from a loan I had with Loans.co.uk back in 2005. This was paid off the following year when I sold my house. My claim is currently with the FSO - has been since the 19th January 2008. It was passed to an ombudsman 5 or 6 months ago and I'm still waiting to hear. I was getting regular letters (probably monthly) to begin with but since being passed to the ombudsman these have stopped and despite sending emails to the adjudicator who was dealing with my case I'm not receiving replies to these now either! Initially the adjudicator did respond and I asked him about fast tracking and sent details of my reasons for this (I've since noticed from posts on this site that it seems to be people with ill health who are fast tracked, which doesn't apply to me - though if I sit here in the cold for much longer I may get pneumonia!!). I spoke to the adjudicator on the 9th January this year and he said there were 3 or 4 other cases relating to Loans.co.uk in front of mine, although I was a little unsure, from the way he spoke, whether this was true or if he was trying to fob me off. 6 weeks on and I'm still waiting to hear!
Anyway, the reason for this post is to ask if anyone has any idea how much longer this might take. I've also noticed one or 2 posts stating that Loans.co.uk are going into liquidation - that would be just about my luck!!!! There doesn't appear to be any info anywhere about this so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I might be successful with my claim!!
Off to visit my new 12 weeks premature granddaughter in hospital in a bit but will check if any replies when I get back.
Thanks in advance and I have to say, from browsing for the last 12 months, people on this site are really helpful and seem to go out of their way to offer help. Makes a nice change in this every man for himself world.
All the best.

Hi there
Within the FOS they have assessors there to see if you qualify for fast track, although this may also depend on who's desk it lands on, its not always ill health, it can be if your in financial hardship or both etc, they will consider this if you ask and then they will let you know if they can do this.
This will vary from one person to another.
However you may be aware that loans.co.uk were fined for mis selling PPI in 2005, you have a great chance here.
If they do go into liquidation then the FOS will let you know, then the financial compensation scheme should take over this complaint for you.
Check them out here:

Have you tried ringing the FOS as well?
Congratulations as well on the birth of your Grand-daughter, hope all is well..... , I am sure others will post up in regards to your post as well, good luck.

Hi Ellbee
You seem to have been hanging around for ages. Do you mean an adjudicator rather than an Ombudsman. It usually goes onto an Ombudsman if a decision is not able to be agreed with the Ombudsman. It does unfortunately seem to be taking a lot of time for decisions to be made. I have also heard rumour about Loans .co.uk but nothing concrete so lets keep our fingers crossed for you.
I hope all goes well with your grand daughter 12 week early is very early. Fingers crossed for you and hope your little girl gets well enough to come out soon.:A:mad:0
