Are these PPI mis-selling or just refinancing (ie cancellations)?

Are these the total Loans-if so-we need the split

    AND the monthly premiums?

What was the carried forward figure on your 2nd loan (at top of first statement?

It was PPI misselling, the offer was the balance of premiums plus interest. The figures I gave were just the Insurance premiums.

    Loan was for £5000
Loan APR: 7.8%, original term 60 months.
Insurance Premium £977.44 paid on 26th July 2000
    Monthly premium £122.24
Insurance Refund on refinance £265.50 on 20th March 2001.
Carried forward £5516.58? (amount transferred to settle old loan)
    Balance of premiums: £711.94

    New Loan £10,000
Loan APR: 7.8%, original term 60 months.
Insurance Premium Paid £1954.83 on 20th March 2001
    Monthly premium £239.89
Insurance Refund on Refinance £1245.00 12th March 2002
Carried forward £8640.20? (amount transferred to settle old loan)
    Balance of Premiums: £709.83
  • Today I had a phonecall from HSBC I had applied for a refund of charges just before the court case in 2007. I completed a financial Hardship form and submitted al the necessary information.
    In 2007 I was offered £3800.However I
declined as they owed me £4600.
During hte phonecall today ,HSBC checked all the details that I had submitted in January 2009. Then rang back after 30mins with an offer of £650 as they recognised that I was in financial difficulties.

The £650 is for this month, next month it will be reviewed and another payment made.as poss review the next month.I feel that it is to little, however I really need the money at the moment.
At the time I was pleased now I am not so sure. It was explained that any outstanding amount would be paid after the court case.
However I could recieve a different payment next month.
I keep thinking that they did offer me £3800.Should I contact the FO and ask for their advice?

I would welcome any help offered.Thank you
SPC £500 well will try very hard.

    GC £6.16/£150
  • Thanks for your help - good things come to those who wait I guess!

I have sent a second letter off to Barclays & if no final response within the next 7-10 days I'm contacting FOS.

    Cheers!

Was the insurance refund paid at refinance paid by cheque?

What is Balance of Premiums--is that what they are NOW offering you?

Please be specific in what they are offering incl interest AND the offer DATE.

    Hi Moonflower

Yes it may be a good idea for you to contact the FOS and see what they say about this, no harm in doing that, good luck with this and please let us know how you get on, cheers.;)

  • Hi Di.

    How are you today.

Have you heard anything today about your claim.

It's good news for Natalie, I am really pleased for her:j .

It gives anyone who is thinking of reclaiming or is going through the process hope.

So anyone out there who is getting the run around or has received a final notice saying no they won't get any money back. DON'T GIVE UP Send your letter to the ombudsman and hopefully you too will receive good news

Sorry Di missed your earlier post about your claim

    Hi there

I wonder if anyone can help, my OH mentioned the other day that he/we have PPI insurance on our credit cards (Lloyds, was Platinum card now Amex and Mastercard Duo). He has no recollection of ever being asked if he wanted this and we have no paperwork (OH has been with Lloyds for 20+ years)

I have read Martin's guide, but not sure a) if we have a case for reclaiming and b) where to start.

Do I write to Lloyds and ask them to send me a copy of the agreement and a breakdown of PPI charges on this account - I couldn't see a template letter for this.

Sorry if this has been asked 000's of times, but any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Hi there, had a look at our latest statement and we actually pay for PPC (Payment Protection Cover) is that the same as PPI just worded differently?

    thanks, Goochie
