Hi everyone.
Just thought I would let you know that I have had a letter from FOS today regarding my ppi claim from capital one.
They have finally agreed to cough up the whole amount plus any interest charged at the credit card rate plus 8% interest from the date of the charge up to the settlement date.
Now it isnt a big win the original claim was only for about £150 but beacuase they were so condescending in their refusal it made me more determined to fight them.
I originally wrote to them in february last year and went to the ombudsman in May. So has taken a year and it looks like it would have cost them less if they had just paid up at the time.
Will post on the success thread when I actually get the money. They 6 to 8 weeks after they receive my signed agreement from the FOS which will be going in the post tomorrow morning. Recorderd delivery.
Just waiting on 2 from barclaycard and the 2 from my good friends ocean Finanace now. Fingers crossed I win those as well.

Payments will be made within the next month, roll on March
I am more annoyed it cost me £10 yesterday to get a postal order to SAR them but I will at least have the info in case they try to rob us for a few pennies!
Well done Toffee penny:beer:   :wave:0 -

Hi
Just to let you all know I got a call from an adjudicator at the FOS last Friday to say he was now dealing with my complaint & apologised it had taken so long!!It was a bonus for me considering the week before they had told me it might be several more months before it went to an adjudicator! I hadn't even got round to ringing FP about cancelling the PPI so all is good! He said it should take around 6 weeks and hopefully we will have a resolution! Here's to some good news coming my way and boy do I need it after the last few weeks! Good Luck to everyone claiming!
Well done! They Adjudicator in my case was also quite quick. He phone me about a fortnight before I got a decision through (a crap decision right enough, but a decision nonetheless!) I think that case quite straighforward in that respect though as they split my case into 2 parts - CCA and PPI. The PPI part is still up for consideration while the CCA part was the subject of the quick decision (and the FOS just say 'this is for the courts to decide' so an easy one for them to make a decision on)
Hopefully the PPI decision is not too far away as Sainsburys have been hell to deal with. I know that there is some overlap between them and Halifax in a number of areas of their business, and Halifax have been settling with 'goodwill gestures' when something gets to the FOS. I hope that's where the overlap is with Sainsburys! I don't care if it's goodwill or if they hate my guts, I just want my money back!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
Hi Helen,
My complaint had been with the FOS since the end of August last year so almost 6 months. As far as I know it wasn't fast tracked - I called the FOS a couple of weeks ago to find out what was happening, they said it was still waiting to be assigned to an adjudicator but it could be several months before that happened, then 2 weeks later I got the call from the adjudicator! Fingers crossed now!
Thanks, some just seem totake longer than others!!! Really hope it goes well for you...GOOD LUCK.
