    Hi Everyone

I first had a Professional Studies loan with Lloyds from 1998-2003. I have none of the paperwork anymore and no account number to quote and don't know the amounts anymore exactly. But when looking at some slightly more recent terms and conditions, it clearly says the payment protection doesn't cover you claiming on it if you are a student and not employed at all. The loan was for full time course fees for a postgraduate course. Is it worth me trying to pursue this at all and asking for terms of the policy at the time, as it finished longer than 6 years ago? It wasn't made clear the policy was optional.

When this loan finished Lloyds rejigged and redid it for me to be a graduate or personal loan to buy a car. This was 2003-2006. I have asked for the terms and conditions of the policy for this loan to be sent to me, with a view to claiming the PPI back as again it wasn't clear that it was optional and I want to check out that I may have been covered for various things through my employer, and I wasn't asked if I had alternate cover. I have an account number but again don't know the exact amounts and the only paperwork I have is a signed loan protection agreement.

In 2006 LLoyds again rejigged/refinanced the loan to enable me to pay off credit cards. I have paperwork, policy and account number and no the amounts involved exactly.

What do people think I should do claiming-wise when the 3 loans almost merge into each other and don't seem to be entirely seperate things?
Hi there, you just put claims in for all 3 loans, they have to work out the ppi paid and rebates given from one loan to the next. If you dont have the earlier loan numbers , just let them know the monthly payments you were making and that this final loan that you jave paperwork for was the last of the 3.

HI there, if you have reasons for mis sell then you can put a claim in regardless.

    Hi there

As amersall says you can do so regardless of your circumstances, however if successful the award maybe refunded towards the debt/arrears, but anything remaining plus interest is normally awarded directly to you.

Follow the link below to make a reclaim, you can either write a letter in your own words, giving your reasons and asking they comply by 8 weeks, or complete the reclaiming questionnaire as shown below, remember to keep copies of all you send and receive, this is in case you need to refer to this at some point, good luck and ask for help if required.

You actually pursue the ones who set up the policy from the start.;)

    Hi New to this

I requested details of loan from Blackhorse on 29th Sept, received details that showed we had paid PPI up front from the loan and was being charged monthly payments of £87.56 + interest. Loan was taken out in 2003 and early settled in 2004. Send a letter back claiming PPI payments, heard nothing from them so called to be advied that letter recieved but all claims on hold as they and other financial companies have gone to the high court on the 8th Oct to contest against these claims, therefore. all claims are on hold for a further 8 weeks . Does anyone know anything about this

    Hi there

I would therefore continue to make a complaint to the FOS, you could contact the fos first if you want to - to make sure on this and see what they suggest.
    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/contact/index.html

At first, they were to freeze new complaints and not those of ongoing or settled complaints where a decision was upheld/agreed and where customers had already signed for acceptance.

    Good luck with this.

  • I have had a call from 'We Claim You Gain' this evening, I took their details and checked them out online with their website and the Ministry of Justice as they provided me with their authorisation code and it checks out. I rang them back on the landline number they rang me on instead of their freephone number and they are calling to see me on Monday.
I had a loan from Citi Finiancial from 2004 and I finished paying for it in Sept 2010, they say I can claim back all the PPI they sold me, is this ligit, i'm unsure after checking out a caller site???? :undecided

    Hi and welcome

Personally I would not use a claims company, and they tend to ring people to tell them they have reclaims, just to try to get some custom.

And not only that they will charge you for doing the work at the end of it, where we do the same from help on this site all totally free, you only have to pay for the posting at the post office.

Lots have had much hassle from using claims companies, I know there are lots of threads to go through, but enough of them as well which confirm many have had problems using claims companies.

Look below for more details, if you think you were mis sold the ppi, then please give it a go yourself, and if you require any help, just ask.
Its simply only a case of completing the reclaiming questionnaire, and send to whoever set up your policy, keep all copies of all you send and receive, in case you need to refer to it at some point.

They have 8 weeks, but may ask for more time, if you hear nothing by 8 weeks, then make the complaint to the financial ombudsman service (FOS), you can do this as well if you receive a decision your not happy with, they should send you the details of the FOS in the final decision.
