I too have been fobbed off by Lloyds. Sent a letter claiming ppi on 2 loans. Recieved letter saying my claim was upheld on one. Sent back acceptance. Rang to find out what was happening about other loan claim. Was told it had been "overlooked" and now was on hold. Since then have heard nothing about either. Lloyds giving conflicting information so wondered with your success if you had any advice. well done on your success:beer:
Any problems, especially if its a resolved case, query with the FOS, then get back to the bank.
    Contact the Supervisor..

  • Has anybody recieved a payout from Lloyds tsb in the last week even though they are saying claims are on hold. Awaiting payout from a claim that I had sent acceptance form for and also awaiting ANY news on claim for another loan that was sent to them on the same paperwork as the other one but which they had conveniently "overlooked" to quote them. Since sending back the acceptance form have heard not a word except for a phone call to them during which they said they were on hold.

Looking for some advice here - I used to have an Egg card that I happily ran up to around £9k(ish) worth of debt, was paying off minimum (yes, I know...) - this was around March 2004. I had a phonecall from Egg to say that I could transfer this over to a loan which meant that the amount was fixed, which sounded reasonable so I went for it. Included in this was, of course, the insurance. I don't have any paperwork from back then (have moved since) but have got as per details on here the T & C of the Agreement sent by Egg (cost £1!), plus statements. I certainly don't remember being offered anything apart from their insurance, which I've never claimed on anyway. The amount in insurance equals £2,300 ish, which they appear to have added on to the total loan. They Gave me a loan of £11k in total (to round it up, I seem to remember was their terminology), so my total amount was £13,300.

    My questions are:

1 Does the Insurance part seem reasonable - if not do I have a claim?

2 If I do have a claim (as I wasnt offered any alternative Insurance), what do I do next?

    Thanks!

NB The loan will finish March next year.

    Hiya

Yes from a few posts on here, its been confirmed there have still been payouts on the resolved cases, and where acceptances have been completed etc.

Contact them and make them aware you know people in the same situation as yourself have been receiving their refunds.

Good luck, please keep us posted.;)

If you believe you were mis sold the ppi give it a go.
    How did you purchase it?

2 If I do have a claim (as I wasnt offered any alternative Insurance), what do I do next?
As above, give it a go on the reclaiming of the ppi.

    Thanks!

It makes no difference if the loan is settled or still active, you can still make a reclaim.

Check for further details below and if any of it applies to you, then go for it.

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

You make a reclaim by completing the questionnaire as on the link below, send to whoever set this up, and keep copies of all you send and receive in case you need to refer to this at some point.

    Hi there

Yes write to them and make them aware that you "do" have the paperwork and you enclose "copies" of them for them in order for them to continue to investigate your complaint.

If they still refuse, then complain to the FOS, you could tell them if you don't here by a certain date you will make a complaint to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS), and enclose copies of evidence you have.

    Hope this helps, good luck.;)

  • I'm totally confused by this.

I've read pages and pages of the forums (long time reader, only now posting!) on this subject and I think I've read too much!

In early 2008 my partner and I took out finance on a new car (big mistake, I know!). I'm near certain we didn't sign anything to do with PPI or the term they've given it (I can't remember the exact term - paperwork's at home, I'm at work) but I think it's the same thing just a different name.

On our paperwork breakdown it's included but we don't have a copy of the signed paperwork.

The company was GE Money but it's now owned by Santander.

I've written out the template from this site and I'm ready to send it. Will it make a difference that GE is now Santander? Also do I need to add extra paragraph saying I want to see where we're supposed to have signed up to the insurance?

Many thanks in anticipation of any help.

    Hi and welcome

You send to whoever set up the policy from the start.

If you send to GE they will pass it on to Santander anyway, but what you could do is post by recorded delivery, and check the status of delivery by track and trace - via the Royal mail.

You can write anything you feel ie relevant to your case.

If you do not have the actual agreement, you could though write a separate letter and enclose £1 cheque or postal order, ask they supply the Agreement by 12-14 days, remember to give them the account number details.

Good luck with this, please keep us posted.;)
