Thanks Di for your reply. Do you know of anyone who has done the complaint on line? When I log into my account for the A & L there is a secure email that you can send for complaints and I had been thinking of doing that to speed things up. I have written the letter and just need to take it to the PO to send by recorded delivery but if it can be done on line might just so that. Thanks

    Hiya

Yes I have, to be honest I would do both, continue to send one online and make them aware there is also an hardcopy in the post too.;)

    Yeah its exciting isn't it?
Although not came across any of them myself yet, my bruv in law the pilot is though.;)

Right, well up to now, mine is actually being dealt with by a Adjudicator with the FOS, so they did end up passing it on and not refusing to look at it, against the insurer of Hamilton.

So I am just waiting to hear now.

I understand they are trying to make them responsible, because when the policy was sold, its passed on to the underwriters/insurers, who give the go ahead, so they must make sure the ppi is acceptable and eligible, and these are the ones to give the go ahead on the loans and ppi.
That is what I have been told anyway.
So they are also part liable.

    Does this make sense?;)

I was told also that it had something to do with being an "agent" also and proving it somehow????

I did not know that yours against the insurer has now gone to an Adjudicator. I have not heard of any other "insurer" complaints going before an adjudicator so that must mean that FOS now can look into the misselling against insurers.

I know last year they said they were accepting complaints and as yet none had actually gone forward (FOS's solicitors and the insureres solicitors were still in talks!!) so yours must be one of the first. How long has it been with an adjudicator Di?

ok so have just come off the phone with the FSC (very helpful lady) and basically this company have gone into liquidation so I now have to email the FSC requesting a claim form. They advised me to put in as much detail with dates etc for the claim and they have informed me it will take up to possible 6 months to process before they let me know the outcome. The FO are only able to help with cases dealing with companie s that are still running.

So I guess I wont be around for a while now whilst i wait for this to go trhough the works - thanks ever so much for your help and if you know how to include this thread to amersall then would you mind doing so ??

Cheers and i'll keep you all posted :D

Hi there, thanks for the mention and glad you are taking this further.Good luck with this and please keep us posted.xxx Dont be a stranger.

    Hi Marshallka

Its been with them since about last October and it was moved to an adjudicator almost approx 2 months ago.

They confirmed they are still looking into the underwriter/insurer direction, and will contact me in due course.;)
Could still be in for a long old haul though.

Hi there, I'm about to send a FOS questionaire off to Amex, this cc was taken out in 1995 so I cannot remember certain things. Am I ruining my chances of a claim by putting in that I cannot remember?

    Hiya

    Good luck on your reclaiming.;)

I know it can be difficult in trying to remember everything going back as far as that long.

What are the reasons you do remember for being mis sold?

I know for sure that they didn't ask any questions about my medical circumstances or whether I had any kind of alternative cover or help if I was made redundant etc.

But I can't remember how the insurance was sold to me.

    Thanks

    Hi Jo

I understand that back then they were not advised sales, but if you had a pre med condition and if you were to make a claim on that condition due to sickness, then they would not pay out.
So for this reason or if you tried making a claim and were not successful, you are in your right to make a reclaim.

But give it a go on the reasons you do have anyway, if you don't try you will never know.

I take it you have also checked the checklist of mis selling reasons?
If not check them out in case there are other reasons that may apply too.;)
