PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

I have began a clim with Nationwide on my PPI after quite a bit of success with my Credit Card and Bank Charge refunds.
After my initial letter I receive a "we will look into this" letter and four weeks later, again I received another "bear with us but we will get back to you in another four weeks" letter.
The trusting half of me thinks that they will be true to their word after reading the other stories where similar letters were received and payments issued but the other half thinks this may be a delaying tactic whilst they investigate any loopholes which me let them get out of any payments.
Should I put pressure on them and threaten the Ombudsman or give them some more space. Its been about 8 weeks by now and I know it does not take this long to work out.
Any advice much appreciated.
Cheers,

Hi and welcome Stu
Personally I would give them that little longer, because of the backlogs they are currently dealing with, lots have received these letters.
However, its up to you of course, but it may be worthwhile just persevering a little longer.
Good luck and well done on your other successes.:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Thanks for the welcome,
I shall give them a little longer as they are pretty good on the whole unlike some other companies I could mention.
I shall keep you posted as to progress.

Hi All
I'll try and keep this brief! My current better half unfortunately took out car financing with Welcome 2 years ago as she had a poor credit rating. She had been told she was able to return the car after half of the agreement (this year was year 2 of 4) without any penalty/additional funds required. When she enquired about this recently they have since told her she would still be liable for the rest of PPI they sold her (approx £1500).
After delving into this she was told when she signed the paperwork that she wouldn't be eligible for the loan unless she took the PPI as well. She's spoken with WCF and they've said write tos ee if she has a case. Reading through another thread it's mentioned that if the PPI is sold in one lump this is also a mis sell.
My question (at last!!) should she still continue to pay the debt until we've sent in/settled the case. I'm loathed for her to part with any more money but would it affect her credit rating again if she was to give the car back, cancel the contract for the car and cancel the direct debit thus removing the means for them to collect the addtional PPI. It seems daft to continue paying them for us to perhaps get this refunded at some point.
As an addtional point they've already tried collecting the car before any figures were discussed. Quality company.
Many thanks for any adive/help.0
