Thanks Di and Amersall -think (?) I understand now.... The loan, and PPI were both with Barclays so writing to their address in Leicester ('cos that's the one on the loan account statement) should be fine I guess.

Will do a basic introductory letter and also include the completed FO questionnaire.

I will post their response here when it arrives.....hopefully not too long :-)

    Hi all,
Does anyone know what store cards would have been arranged through GE Money? I'm sure that Kwik Fit and Evans were through them but there may have been others. I haven't got any info now as I paid the accounts off ages ago. Do you need to have the account numbers to claim? Also has anyone got an address for them? On a lighter note - is anyone else getting a "pop-up" from a reclaims company when they try to log on to this site? What a cheek! Was reading some posts on this forum last night from way back when it first started and had to chuckle on seeing that Martin Lewis himself posted now and then, totally gobsmacking some of the people who were posting!

    Hi Evie

Yes there are a few I believe, my son was sold insurance through a Burtons Store card and that was them of GE Money, I know it was GE Money we wrote to and they pass on the details to Santander complaints dept.
So what I would do is write to GE and they will forward your complaint as they did my son's, they never asked my son to write to Santander himself, as GE money just passed them on, although it will be Santander that will possibly be the ones writing back to you.

    I'm sure it was the address below was used;

    GE Money PPI Claims
    Mr Rupert Peacock
    Customer Relations Manager
    GE Money Consumer Lending Ltd
    53-61 College Road
    Harrow
    Middlesex
    HA1 1FB

But I have not details in front of me now, the above I got from the addy thread we have on here, you could leave out the gents name (Rupert) though.

If you settled within the last 6 years, you could request for a credit report, I am aware the details of all loans/cards etc will be on the reports if over the last 6 years, you can request a credit report for about £2, google in maybe Equifax, or Experian etc, some are free for 30 days.
The account number should be enclosed on those details.

I have not yet had any of those pop ups, but have you a something on your computer to block all pop ups?;)

  • First some good news. Barclays have upheld my complaint with the FOS and hopefully my cheque of £3950 will be with me within 4 weeks.

Quick question though: - I submitted a previous claim to Lombard Bank who offered me as a gesture of goodwill a payment of £750. I accepted this, however, at the time I didn't know the amount of PPI that had been included on my loan. I have now found the original paperwork and the amount of PPI is far greater than £750. Is there anything that I can do about this now?

    Can anyone help/suggest anything??

Hi, Martin has not posted on the PPI forums for ages and tends to leave us to it. We know it better than he does:p:D:cool::rotfl:.

Hi, you could try and ask them to reopen the complaint again (as per the FSA guidelines of dismissed complaints!!!???) but there is a good chance they will dismiss this again IF you signed in full and final settlement. I would just keep on at them and see what FOS say about it if they do send a final response... this is where the problem lies - you were most likely paid this in "goodwill" and not admitting anything... I would personally go for it and take to FOS. You have nothing to lose.
  • Thanks for your help Marshallka.

Do you know of any standard templates for reopening this complaint? I think that it did state in the goodwill letter 'full and final settlement'

    Thanks again

I would write one yourself from the PPI reclaiming guide and put you feel that your complaint was dismissed unfairly (mention treating customers fairly) and you felt you had no option than to accept their offer which was considerably less than you would have won in misselling complaint. I would also do all the necessary forms from the PPI reclaiming guide and tell them you want the complaint to be looked into "properly" as you would expect from a firm and failing that you will take it up with the FOS. Give them the 8 weeks again as a fresh complaint and then FOS can see that you have given them the full option of reopening and treating you fairly. I would also mention that you have now found the original paperwork and their offer was unreasonable.

When was it sold and who by so I can check you are eligible to use FOS for the complaint???? (just seen you have mentioned it was Lombard Bank so I would check with FOS if they were within their jurisdiction for the date they sold you the PPI... I would assume they were being a bank)

Such a shame that the FSA told firms to reopen complaints if they are not allowing the ones where people have accepted lesser amounts to use the FOS.
