And please keep us posted on here. I would not give up, like I said, you have nothing to lose only the cost of a few stamps and perhaps a lot more to gain.

Extra good luck and enjoy the rest of your bank holiday.

I agree with marshalka and would take this to fos, i wonder how many thousands of pounds people have lost with these "goodwill" gestures? it makes my blood boil to think people have accepted £750 and the ppi was a lot more than this with interest.

And well done with barclays :j:j

Yeah, it does mine too amersall. I know there were lots that accepted this from RBS (I think it was them that did it!!) and when you are desperate for money you accept. Makes you wonder if they had inside information as to the furture of the PPI complaints IF there is no way of reopening them again. They should reopen each and every one. I know when the guidelines came out on this some months ago it did state that when PPI complaints had been accepted in full and final they were not expecting firms to reopen them but they should do and it should come under treating customers fairly (or not as the case may be!!). If people weren't sold this PPI and put in more unnecessary debt then they would not be so desperate to accept lesser amounts.

    Thanks for your help Marshallka.

Do you know of any standard templates for reopening this complaint? I think that it did state in the goodwill letter 'full and final settlement'

    Thanks again

    Hi there

    How long ago was this?

If within the last 6 years a credit report would show who is who etc.

Otherwise any banking statements where the mortgage payments came out of, the account number and the name of the mortgage company should be shown in the direct monthly debits, if you bank online this should also allow you to go back about 7 years or so too.

Sorry if I have mis read.

Going to the credit report again, you can request one of these for £2, some offer it free for 30 days, google Credit agencies in, such as Equifax, Experian etc.

    Good luck.;)

You can then contact the provider who may hopefully be able to confirm.

    Hi Evie

Yes there are a few I believe, my son was sold insurance through a Burtons Store card and that was them of GE Money, I know it was GE Money we wrote to and they pass on the details to Santander complaints dept.
So what I would do is write to GE and they will forward your complaint as they did my son's, they never asked my son to write to Santander himself, as GE money just passed them on, although it will be Santander that will possibly be the ones writing back to you.

    I'm sure it was the address below was used;

    GE Money PPI Claims
    Mr Rupert Peacock
    Customer Relations Manager
    GE Money Consumer Lending Ltd
    53-61 College Road
    Harrow
    Middlesex
    HA1 1FB

But I have not details in front of me now, the above I got from the addy thread we have on here, you could leave out the gents name (Rupert) though.

If you settled within the last 6 years, you could request for a credit report, I am aware the details of all loans/cards etc will be on the reports if over the last 6 years, you can request a credit report for about £2, google in maybe Equifax, or Experian etc, some are free for 30 days.
The account number should be enclosed on those details.

I have not yet had any of those pop ups, but have you a something on your computer to block all pop ups?;)

    Hi Di,
Thanks as always for the advice, much appreciated and I will give it a try. Not sure how to block pop-ups, will have to ask my son as I'm technologically challenged!
