  • Hi everyone,I have a claim for mppi. Which was reccomeded to me by a broker. This is the broker that has left the country to live in Cyprus! I wrote to him at the begining of January and heard nothing at all.

Yesterday I recieved a letter from the broker in Cyprus, the company no longer exists and the company that took oever no longer exist either.

What shall I do any help or advice is very welcome.
I am unable to claim on this policy due to pre existing illness.

The broker told me that he had filled the forms in and I only had to sign.Do I stand any chance of a refund?

    Hi there

There is a possibility you could have a case here.

Have you checked this link out here:
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

There is some useful PPI info on mis selling of PPI, and a template reclaim letter, I would write in your own words though and obviously with your own reasons.

Another letter maybe required if not successful first time round, or until you have exhausted their complaints procedures, in that case when it comes to the final decision they should enclose the financial ombudsman leaflet.
They have 8 weeks to respond in full and post by recorded delivery, good luck and just keep posting for more help if required.;)

    Hi there
I am sorry to hear of this, maybe someone else have been in the same situation here as you and will post up and hopefully have some advice here for you on where to take this.

You could contact maybe the FSA here:
    http://www.fsa.gov.uk/pages/doing/contact/index.shtml

    Or the OFT here:
    http://www.oft.gov.uk/contactus

See what they say, with a bit of luck someone will post up as well, good luck.;)

  • Hi all - back to a letter from Egg agreeing to my offer to compromise at half of my PPI claim. Pretty happy with that as I've not heard of too many having successes with them!

Time to change the reclaim figure on my signature!

    Hi

My partner has a personal loan with Lloyds with PPI and believes it may have been mis-sold. He spoke to them today and they seemed very keen to let him cancel it - does anyone know if he cancels now would this jeopardise any subsequent ppi reclaim?

Cancelling PPI does not stop you from claiming mis selling.

  • Morning! :D

We had a loan with Marbles which started in 2004 and was paid off early 2005/06.

I wrote to them using template letter from here for mis-sold ppi and they replied on 29th Dec 08 saying they would contact us shortly. We haven't heard anything since their first letter.

We do not have original loan paperwork, I found the info from OH old bank statement from 2004 ( I'm like a hamster I hoard stuff :D )

Should I just send the £1 request for the CCA for this account or do we have to do the £10 SAR to get the information on the ppi?

They were difficult ones to crack - boom boom :o I made a reasonable offer to settle at half of the sum I was claiming in recognition of the fact that although I wsn't covered under the medical part of the policy, in the event of a non-medical related redundancy, I could still claim, so I offered half the sum due and they accepted. I was surprised at that!

Sainsburys is the final one and it's with the FOS in terms of PPI mis-selling although I've already had my claim that the CCA is unenforceable knocked back by them as not an issue they would deal with

Hopefully the Sainsburys one will be decided sooner rather than later. The balance of my Egg card is now down to about £700 so I should be able to clear it within a few months now which is quite something as in July 08, the balance was £2,300!

I'm hopeful that Sainsburys follow a similar path as Halifax in these disputes and just settle although I don't think that's possible anymore given that the Adjudicator has been asking for info from them in order to decide on my claim. I'm not aware of Sainsburys settling with anyone even though HBoS seem to be keen to do so once the Adjudicator is involved.
