It is not sour grapes, I am just sick of reading posts where posters are pushing for fast tracking or have got fast tracked for trivial reasons.

Everyone in this day & age needs the money & if they were all treated equally & fairly there would be no arguments.

Can you tell me where these posts are?

    From the FOS:
Please tell us for example if:
you are now experiencing exceptional financial hardship because of circumstances connected to your complaint.

You are suffering serious ill health , which make it extremely important to you that this complaint is resoved quickly.

Legal action is being threatened in relation to this case.

That is some reasons for fast track, none of them trivial as far as I can see.

My first claim was 14 months, did not ask for fast tracking on that one as there was no need for this at that time. (yes a complexed case, but not fast tracked) as we did not ask for it - did not need it.

Like many here, you get advised for fast track if circumstances change for the worse, as stated on letters they send you, even though your not guaranteed this.

This recent case was submitted end June 2008, it was September I was told it was moved on with a phone call, he did not mention anything about fast tracking and when I did ask him he said "no" it was not fast tracked at this point my case was just moved onto him, it was in January this year they moved it on to fast track, so over 6 months after due to our circumstances had worsened over the previous 2 months before.

We did have savings before hubby lost his job, which we obviously had to use to keep a roof over our heads until the insurance was sorted out, yet that covers just under half of that, for the time being but there are my own personal reasons as well "they have not been disclosed to anyone" only the FOS know about.

Everyone's circumstances are different and personal in regards to requesting for fast track, you will see that all over these sites. CAG, PCF, and so on............

However, of course there are always someone worse off than yourself, but if you do not let the FOS know then send off evidence to prove your situation including bank statements etc, they check your incomings from that, then its all down to the FOS to decide. As far as I know they work out your income of what's coming in and any further reasons.

Its a very bad time for EVERYONE right now, so yes everyone is feeling the pinch of this credit crunch, and everyone should be treated equally and fairly, maybe the FOS should remove the fast track requests at a time like this if this is the case ???

If I was pushed back due to someone elses circumstances were more priority to mine, then of course please deal with that person first, that is only fair, even if I was down the end of that queue.

As you know there are job losses everywhere, many thousands have lost their jobs and its still ongoing.....its not nice being in that situation.
My husband has applied everywhere........even though they have kept his CV on file, most companies are getting rid, but there is still hope, even though everyone are fighting for the same job, but like he said if he could go back tomorrow he would be gone, he is currently still waiting to hear and he is now just waiting for a phone call for mid week.........
and of course if he gets lucky he even said if his complaints have not been seen to yet, as sometimes the FOS cannot guarantee to look at your complaints when they say they do, he even said he will personally contact them to let someone else get seen to, instead of himself.

I myself am a full time carer for my son with special needs and would love to go back tomorrow, but there are reasons I cannot disclose on here which are too personal.........and we all have them.

Like I said this credit crunch have not been a help to anybody and yes everyone is feeling it and there will always be someone worse off that yourself and myself of course.

Good luck to everyone with your complaints.;)

di how unselfish of you, i have great admiration for carers and i hope everything turns out well in the end for you and your family, the only thing we can all do is take each day as it comes, there is light at the end of the tunnel, some just have to wait a little longer than others to start and get a glimpse of it xx
