  • Ah thanks Di, that clears things up for me. However I have no information with Loans.co as all my documentation is that of Firstplus! ?So how do I now contact Loans.co if I have no information, address, account numbers etc etc!!! Is it worth it?? Your help has been invaluable xx :A

    Hi

    Just signed back in now.

What you do is when you contact/write and/or send them a questionnaire as shown further down the page "stage one" (FOS Questionnaire, complete and keep copies:

Sent a cover letter to them (Loans.co.uk) and tell them you were accepted for a loan by Firstplus, which was arranged and set up by Loans.co.ukon date XX/XX/XXXX, (write what you can remember on the date and amount), and I am requesting for you to investigate my complaint/Questionnaire enclosed in relation to being mis sold the Payment Protection Policy.
I look forward to hearing from you by 8 weeks, the given timescale to complete your investigations - before complaining to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) if the complaint is unresolved by then.

    The address found here:

Good luck and your very welcome, please keep us posted.

    :)

You could either check old banking statements for the account number, and the loan account number is the same as the loan number itself, due to them being added together as one lump monthly repayment.

If your still with the same bank, check statements, where the account number would be shown next to the monthly repayments, or if you bank online, this should allow you to go back as far as 7 years or so.

    Hi there

I have always used the loan account number as the insurance was added within the loan and was never given a separate insurance number, if it was the same for you, make them aware of this, tell them (the insurance was added in with the loan so the account number covered for both, then write your loan account number).;)

    Hope this helps.:)

Thanks :) Have also just realised that the loan is in my maiden name and I've never changed it ~ oops! Should I just state this in my covering letter to save confusion or fill out the form in my maiden name? Typical me, so unorganised!!!

    Hi there

Do you still have the account number?

You can still make a reclaim with the account number, or if you rather have some documentary evidence of the PPI, this would be shown on the monthly statements (if the account is still active), or you could write a simple letter to request for a copy of the agreement for the credit card account, enclose a £1 postal order or cheque payment, and ask they supply by 12 days.

Post by recorded delivery, for your proof of posting.

Another way to request even more paperwork - would be to request a Subject access Request (SAR), they have 40 calendar days to comply, and you need to enclose a payment of £10 cheque or postal order.
    SAR template letter here:

Otherwise just give them as many personal details as possible, in order for them to track down information on the account.

    Good luck.;)
