Hi, I reclaimed ppi for loan between 2006 and 2009 with HSBC, got a result with that, so have gone for reclaiming ppi for loan between 2004 to 2006 with HSBC. Posted the letter 7th April, received first letter dated 15th April, second letter dated 7th may, both saying they are looking into the matter. I now have received another letter dated 7th June, saying they are not yet in a position to provide us with a full response, they are reviewing the matter and they are aiming to provide us with a response by 3rd July. They have said that they hope we will give them the time to investigate the complaint, but we can go to the ombudsman if we are not satisfied. Do you think that it is worth waiting for their response, then if I don't get one by that date, then go to the ombudsman.

    Thanks for your help Ann

    Hi Ann

this is descreetly up to you now, you do have this choice, however as they have kept in touch and not ignored your complaint, it maybe worthwhile waiting until the date they have said.

    Good luck and good one.;)

    hi,

its worth giving them a little longer as if you go to the FOS it will take another few months.

i would write back to HSBC stating that you are happy for them to have the additional time to enable them to investigate your complaint properly and that you would then expect their decision on the 3rd July.

good luck and let us know how you get on.

LOL, no your not thick :D;)

This can be confusing, your documentation will be that of the lenders, but it was the broker who sold and set up and also mis sold you the policy.
We we have used brokers we have to pursue through them and not the lender, unless of course you taken out a loan advance with the lender later on, then that part would be down to them, but then 2 separate reclaims:
The broker for the first loan set up and the lender for the advance if any.

    Does that make sense now.:D;)

    Hi All

i have recently received a letter advising that theyare currently looking in to my claim and will get back to be by the end of june. the eight weeks for the investigation is up next week. Shall i wait until the end of the month and or continue with the onbudsman letter after the 8 weeks? Are these delaying tactics by mint and A&L or should i be patient?? please advise xx
