Hi I have just been looking through old statments and see that we had finance from first national back in 2003 and for a number of years before this. Has anyone tried reclaiming ppi with these and if so were do you write to not found an address any advice would be great?

Just an update for all.
Phoned Lloyds TSB today to see if they are going to revisit my complaint from 01/10/07, as per the recent FSA ruling, and at first they said they had no record of my complaint!
They eventually found it in a different department which is apparantely where they go if they are being dealt directly with the FOS.
They couldn't answer my question, just spurned out a load of corporate jargon.........'waiting for FOS.....blah, blah, blah.......'. They couldn't even acknowledge that they didn't bother responding to the adjudicators decision to uphold my complaint back in March.
I have also phoned the FOS for an update on the letter I sent last week, asking the same question, and also re-stating my health and financial hardship issues.
Will let you know how I get on.
980 days since I first complained to Lloyds...............will I get to the 1,000.......................don't think there is any question about that.

i would be really cheeky and try the following, especially as Lloyds are in termoil at the moment.

i would fill in the fos consumer questionaire and send it as a completely new complaint to their complaints department, and then see which one you get a decision on first.

its only going to cost you the price of a stamp, and if they can't track the current complaint properly they may handle it within their own department.

for instance, my first complaint with Lloyds was dealt with by their loans department in Peterlee what a complete and utter shambles, it's now with the FOS.

my second 2 with Lloyds were dealt with by the customer care department in Newport, still a bit of a shambles but at least dealt with in a more professional manner.:rotfl:

you have nothing to lose,
and it will cost them money to write a response to this anyway, what's it cost for a bank to send letter nowadays, £25 :rotfl:

why not give it a go.
I'm proud to say that the banks no longer take money from me after becoming debt free

I made a claim with Lloydstsb in March for ppi on credit card. I have phoned them today and been told my claims is being refused. I was unemployed at time I took credit card out and am still unemployed. They say I would have benefited from the ppi ( only if I died ) so it was not mis sold.
I have already had a settlement from another credit card so how can Lloyds say I do not have a valid claim.
Could someone please let me know what I should do next.
Thank you in advance.

hi i was wondering if anyone could help. i recently wrote to hsbc about a loan i had in 1996 which i know i had ppi on, i still have the account number but they have wrote back to me saying that unfortunatley they cannont investigate as this is past 6 years. they have said that due to it being so old they do not have any information saying i had ppi and unless i can prove i had ppi ie the document then they will not investigate. is there anything else i can do? The thing is they must have some information as they gave me the account number.

Quick question!

For accounts started pre 2005 FSA regulations, does the creditor need to complete a demands and needs statement?

Or did this only become mandatory after this date?

Having chew with my Lloyds TSB credit card from 1999. FOS adjudicator has ruled against me despite me having adequate cover through my employer! Need to strengthen my case before it goes to the actual ombudsman!

Cocker:)

Hi there Sylvia

I would make sure they send you the written correspondence and with it being LLoyds TSB, write back to them once you know why they refused you, you then have something to work on.

So make sure they send you the letter to confirm this and whatever the findings was, work on them, even if it was a final response, they do tend to look again and reconsider.

customer.care.insurance@lloydstsb.co.uk

You can also email them as well and ask them to send this, make sure you give them the account number in relation to the account, good luck and keep on at them is best.;)

Hi there

Contact the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) and ask them on your best direction from here.
Because as long as you have information and the account number of the account you should still be eligible to make a reclaim.

FOS here:

Please let us know how you get on, cheers.;)

Do not worry, and no you do not sound like a total flake lol :D;), good luck with this and please ask for help anytime.

Thanks again Di, you said that the loan policy number should be the same as ppi policy but on form it says this will be different, should I just put the loan policy number again?

Thanks
