Hi i am looking for some advice, i have currently got a cc charges complaint going on and decided to look at ppi. I sent a SAR request to Citifinacial and while i have now recieved paperwork on all loans taken from them since 2001 i have not recieved credit card statements altough that information was also requested on SAR, i have spoke with citicards who tell me they cant find my account info (paid off card 3 yrs ago) and citifinancail who say they have nothing to do with credit cards. Do i have to now write separatly to citicards with another fee for statements???
Question 2.....on looking through loan paperwork i see i have ppi on loan taken out in 2001 with Assocaites.......total paid to customer 2000 , optional insurance 562.44 ( never optional when told need in order to obatin finance ) arrangement fee 75.00 amount fiananced 2637.44 over 18months 43.6apr amount of monthly installments 187.25. could someone please advise as to how much i can claim for ppi?
then in 2003 i refinanced total paid to customer 1569.24.....refinanced 3130.76......opional insurance 790.71.....arrangement fee 100.00......amount financed 5590.71......37.2apr......30 monthly installmants of 268.26.........again advise on how much recliam
and lastly refinanced again in 2006.......amount apid to customer 1874.70.........refinanced 4125.30......optional ins 309.00....arangement fee 115.00..... total amount payable 7781.54.......23.2apr .....24mnth at 324.23.

i Know its long winded but hoping someone who bit better at maths can give me some idea what i can claim for
    Thanks

i can do some maths for you but i will need to know the following additional information

which month did each loan start and finish,
and did you recieve any rebate of ppi premiums upon settlement/refinancing of the loans

    cheers
I'm proud to say that the banks no longer take money from me after becoming debt free

hi there, when you claim for mis sell you dont tell them what you are claiming, you tell them they mis sold you ppi , put all loan account numbers as you are claiming ppi on all of these, and tell them your reasons for mis sell and that you want all ppi paid to date with interest plus 8% (some dont pay 8% but you never know ) as you rolled these loans over you will have recieved rebates of ppi, not a lot though i would imagine but someone who is good with these rolled over ppi will be able to help you better good luck with this and keep us posted

Hi i believe i was missold PPI on a firstplus loan. i am still paying the PPI and am due the rebate in February. Just a couple of questions do I need to cancel the PPI before I start my claim? I am loathed to do this as if my case fails i stand to lose a considerable amount of money. The reason I am looking into this is i have been offered a job in Australia and would like to try and sell the house before i go. The problem is because of the firstplus loan we are in negative equity so I would imagine any attempts to sell would be blocked by FP. The PPI refund would take us much closer to the break even point. Any advice would be appreciated

hi there, please please go for mis sell, dont cancel ppi as you only get a small rebate, if you win you get all ppi paid to date with interest (the monthly ppi payment) the total ppi amount added to loan taken off and the loan reset without ppi (this will bring down your loan balance, please take a look at this website and have your eyes opened firstpluscomplaints.co.uk
your reasons for mis sell are you were not told the ins was over 5 years but the ppi was added to the loan term with interest, you were not given a choice of taking ppi with any one else, and the carrot that was dangled was you get ppi amount cashback after 5 years but you would still be paying it till the end of the loan with interest, look at your agreement and see what the ppi amount is with interest, and you are only covered for 5 years after 5 years you would maybe cover the loan again with another company so that is another monthly payment plus you will still be payiing ppi to first plus.I won with fp and 99% of these front loaded policys are being won, you go for it

    Hi all,

Have filled out the form to reclaim PPI but have a problem. I have my loan reference number but don't have the PPI policy number. What should I do? I'm worried about ringing them in case they want to know why I want it and bamboozle me. I really want to get this right and don't want to be disappointed.

Also, what should I put in the section about giving details of the policy, how it was made etc, I don't remember much as it was a few years ago. In the part where it asks why I'm not happy with the policy now should I say that I was an agency worker up until 4 months before the policy and feel I was coerced into taking it out?

Sorry, I know I sound a total flake but I want to get it right.

    Help please?

The loan account number is fine and is used for the insurance policy as well, I take it you pay the insurance within the loan?

Also, what should I put in the section about giving details of the policy, how it was made etc, I don't remember much as it was a few years ago. Write to the best of your knowledge of what you can remember, the approx year will be fine, then go on to say the policy was worthless to you due to the fact of being an agency worker, where you would not be eligibe to make a successful claims, for example, unemployment, if this was mentioned/discussed with me by the adviser who set up and sold this policy, then I would have been given the opportunity to confirm this. (Something along those lines will be okay).

Sorry, I know I sound a total flake but I want to get it right.

Do not worry, and no you do not sound like a total flake lol :D;), good luck with this and please ask for help anytime.

    Just an update for all.
Phoned Lloyds TSB today to see if they are going to revisit my complaint from 01/10/07, as per the recent FSA ruling, and at first they said they had no record of my complaint!
They eventually found it in a different department which is apparantely where they go if they are being dealt directly with the FOS.
They couldn't answer my question, just spurned out a load of corporate jargon.........'waiting for FOS.....blah, blah, blah.......'. They couldn't even acknowledge that they didn't bother responding to the adjudicators decision to uphold my complaint back in March.
I have also phoned the FOS for an update on the letter I sent last week, asking the same question, and also re-stating my health and financial hardship issues.
Will let you know how I get on.
980 days since I first complained to Lloyds...............will I get to the 1,000.......................don't think there is any question about that.
