PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

I have received letter today from LlyodsTSB. They have turned down my claim as they say I would have benefited from the ppi, life cover, positive job solutions and hospitalisation cover.
When I took out credit card I was not working as I was looking after my husband. I was not getting carer's allowance.I made the advisor aware of this. So there was no chance of me becoming employed.
I was also in hospital while I was paying ppi and was unawre I could make a claim.
I did not know that ppi was optional and that I could cancel it( bit of a div I think ).
LloydsTSB state this is their final response and that my complaint is closed.
Could some kind person please advise me what I should do next.0 -
The fact that you had a cancellation notice is irrelevant as far as your complaint is concerned. This is a result of the contract that was sold to you incorrectly in the first place.
Everyone on this site has had a cancellation notice issued to them and if we all agreed with the view of HSBC then no one on here would have ever been refunded a penny.
Take what they have said with a pinch of salt because that is all it is worth. It is a corporate response which is intended to make you go away.
You have an excellent case so dont give up.0 -

Hi Sylvia
You DO have a good case here, they tried this one on by saying exactly the same thing to me as they have done you and most people who have taken out a credit card.
The point is even if it did protect you for so much, they mis sold the product to you, and you did not ask for it.
Now with my experience of LLoyds, you need to keep strong and keep on at them, I learnt this from when they tried it on with me.
However, this did actually go as far as the FOS who seen in my favour, but the loan ppi's Lloyds did uphold.
So final response or not, tell them your not happy with their decision and are requesting they still investigate again, as you don't believe your complaint was investigated properly, also go on to say your aware that the FSA are punishing banks for this reason, and to avoid further expense to themselves, you are giving them the opportunity to re-investigate your complaint, because if you complain to the Financial ombudsman service, they will have to pay out further charges if your complaint is successful through them.
You should tell them as well, despite LLoyds findings "of them stating the policy still covers you for job solutions and so on, you should not be paying out for something that your not fully protected with.
Keep at them, give them 7 days to get back before you decide to go to the FOS, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Its my pleasure Sylvia.
And don't worry, they have not singled you out, what they sent you was a standard can't be bothered response, simply because they have not investigated your complaint properly, so yes stay strong and you will get there.;)
The best of luck. XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
