    Hello,

I posted back in March(23rd and 24th) about my two separate PPI claims, credit card and loan(settled early).

As I promised then I now have some new developments that I would like to update everyone. The credit card PPI claim was acknowledged by Lloyds and they have agreed to refund this to me. At the moment I have not received anything yet but I will write back to them to get an update.

As for my loan PPI claim, it took a while and Lloyds did not acknowledged my claim and insisted that they have done nothing wrong. So I sent everything to the Ombudsman, included all documents sent and received. Lloyds initially offered me a measly £200 for some kind of sliding scale points but did not confirm that they have done anything wrong.

I waited for the Ombudsman's reply without raising my hopes up. This week, I got a letter and that the Ombudsman has agreed on my favour. This is excellent news and it goes to show that if you stick to your guns you will prevail. I am not sure if this is going to work for everyone but certainly it worked. Just keep all the documents with you, photocopy before you send anything that you did not write and hope for the best.

Even when Lloyds presented a very good case with their detailed explanations they were still found guilty of mis-selling. All I did was maintain that I was not aware of the PPI additions(which is true) and stick with that argument.

I would like to thank di3004 for her help and advice. I will post the full amount of compensation to the PPI success forum when I had the final amount.

    Thanks.
:money::money: well done :j:j what a fast result from ombudsman :D:D

Thought i'd ask this on here, mentioned in another thread but more views here.

I had a Lloyds credit card opened in 1998. Agreement has ppi ticked even though I wasnt asked, it was pre filled. I didnt even want credit but the manager encouraged me that it would be handy for emergencies.

However upon reciept of my SAR they only included statements going back 6 years but they did include the agreement. No ppi on any of the statemets but ticked on the agreement. I think it was canceled when my account was moved from a basic credit card to a goldcard which would of been 2003ish.

So I have proof that the ppi was added without my asking but have no proof of what was paid, and ofcourse if Lloyds have completed the SAR correctly neither do they.

Do I have any chance here?

Great. How would we know how much I was owed though if they didnt even have the numbers themselves?
I have read stories of reclaims going back to the 90s but had presumed these were either still active in the last 6 years.

Right, now it may be the case that they will only go back to as far as the account takes them, but as you still have so much of the details and if they do not have this info themselves, then I would therefore enclose "copies" and not originals if you have to.
They "may" estimate the rest of it.;)

Do you mind me asking as to when you complained to Lloyds TSB about your credit card PPI mis-selling and, did you have to go to the Ombudsman?

I beleive that the recent FSA ruling has stated that the likes of LLoyds have to re look at all the complaints that they had previously refused to uphold, with the exception of those that were with the Ombudsman.

As regular users on here are probably aware, I complained to Lloyds on October 1st 2007. They politely told me to go away twice and my complaint has been with the Ombudsman since January 8th 2008!! (I wonder if this is a record?).

It is ecouraging to see that Lloyds sufferers are at last getting their deserved refunds but makes my frustration no easier to bear as the wait goes on.:(

I have had one adjudicator who found in my favour in on March 12th 2010 and told Lloyds the same. They didnt even bother to respond so I am now in the Ombudsman queue.

How come you have had 4 adjudicators?

    Morning everyone,

Just got my letter from John Lewis Financial services re my PPI. They state that the PPI was opened during a telephone call and all of their operators are fully trained. They are also stating that as I went into arrears last year and most normal people check their statements every month then i should have known about PPI and also that I could cancel it at any point. They have also said that this is their final response and I can now go to the ombudsman. So that's what I'm gonna do and I'm also going to enclose a copy of my employment contract and also my separate critical illness and life assurance policy. So while their employees may have been trained no-one pointed out that with the previous 3 mentioned items I didn't need PPI with my card, nor did they point out that I could get PPI cheaper elsewhere.

Does anyone think I am flogging a dead horse so to speak?
