I received a letter today saying that the bank are upholding my complaint and will pay me back all PPI I have paid to date (which amounts to about £2k) plus 8% simple interest.

Result!

Is this since you wrote back to them to ask them to re-look at your case?

Yeah i wrote back just saying I'd found the person's name who misadvised me that I had to take the PPI and to reconsider their previous decision otherwise I would complain to the ombudsman.

It'll probably take a few months to get back, but it's a win.

Well done!!!! :T:T:T Great work!

I find this works with LLoyds, don't ever back down - final decision or not..

Do what I did, I take it you received the acceptance slip?
If so as soon as you sign and post by recorded delivery, email them here:
customer.care.insurance@lloydstsb.co.uk

Tell them you have posted by recorded delivery/signed for and ask when you should be receiving your money.
Normally its 21 working days from when they receive your acceptance.

Please let me know, fingers crossed for you.;)

Hi Di,

As you know I have been waiting quite a while now and my complaint is now waiting for one of the Ombudsman since March 25th 2010.

Is it worth me writing back to Lloyds to reconsider my complaint or am I best to just sit tight now and wait for the Ombudsmans decision, seeing as I have already been waiting 975 days since I first raiseed my complaint?

Hi.;)

I would give the FOS a call to ask of an update first and maybe see what they have to say, just in case its been moved on since.;)

I dealt with a very helpful adjudicator at the time and he last sent me a letter on the 4th May. I will send him an email to see if I can get an update.

I always feel as though I am pestering them when I phone or email and I dont want them to put my case further back in the queue.

Hello,

I just wanted to check the original lender was Sainsburys bank so is that who I should send the letter to? The actual bank was HBOS so wasnt sure if it should be them?
Also I can only find my agreement number on my CAA not the policy number - Im not sure where I would find this?

Hi there

Whoever set this up for you in the beginning is the ones you pursue.

There is now a FOS Questionnaire, the financial ombudsman service (FOS) have recently issued these to complete to send to whom you are complaining to instead of template letters, although a letter is still fine, the questionnaire you will find further down the page on link below as Stage One.
Or you can contact the FOS to send you one, remember after completion to keep copies.

In regards of the account number - the CCA number is fine.;)

Good luck and please keep us posted.:)

Hi guys, looking for a little bit of advice here.

5 years ago I took out a personal loan of £15000 to consolidate my now husband's debts, he had been left in a terrible financial state by an ex and it was the only way to reduce his interest payments.

I was sold PPI which, having looked back over paperwork, was £2800 originally and £3500 total repayable. I honestly cannot remember what was said about the PPI but they obviously mentioned it or I wouldn't have known. What worries me is that on the paperwork it says...

"As you will have received information, but no advice or recommendation from us about LoanCare Cover, if this cover does not meet your requirements, please contact us immediately."

Does this mean I can't claim? I cannot remember how it was put to me but I'm pretty sure I would have said no if I realised it was £3000 extra!

The loan was with Nationwide. I would love any advice you guys can give me.
