    Your very welcome.

What I would do is send a letter by attachment email, complain, tell them your not happy with being given different timescales on receiving your money, and forward a copy for the CEO's attention as well, hopefully this will trigger them to pay out quicker.

    Fingers crossed.:)

Hello a newbie to this thread,

So appologies for repeating something if I've missed it. But my situation is this-

Banked with Hsbc all my life and three and a bit years ago decided to merge my student debt with credit card debt and thus got a personal loan. At the time I was advised to take out PPI with the threat that I'd not get the loan approved. And hey presto the loan was approved and since then payed my dues like clockwork. So three years down the line I want to stop this extra payment of £120 per month (PPI)- question is am I able to do this?
I had planned to go into my local branch and point out to them that I want the PPI to be stopped. Should I do this and would they give me the refund?

    Regards

    Peter
hi there, my opinion is not to cancel the ppi until you find out if you can get mis sell (if you win mis sell you will get all payments you have made to date back anyway) if you cancel ppi you may be asked to take out a new loan without ppi, and this is where it gets "dirty" as the new loan in some cases is over a new term and new apr, if you win mis sell you have all ppi total taken off the loan and the loan reset this means the same term and apr, you can then still pay the loan over the remaining term of the original loan. does this make sense? you go for mis sell include the original student loan that was carried over as you were rolled over with ppi.Good luck with this and keep us posted

    Hello Di and amersall,

Thanks for all your supportive comments so far. Just so I am clear then (based on amersall's recent post)-

I do not trundle into my local branch and ask for the PPI to be stopped, but simply complete the FOS Questionnaire and post it off to my local branch and highlight that I've been miss sold (and include my graduate loan and the loans that it was obsorbed into) and wait to see what happens.

And is there a generic Hsbc address I should send this form off to?

    Many thanks

    Peter

Yes good idea on holding back on the cancellation of the PPI, sorry I did not think this when previously posting to you lol, cheers amersall.:D:beer:

Address wise I assumed it was this one below, but post it by recorded delivery and they should anyway forward your complaint on to the relevant section for you.

    HSBC registered office at:

    HSBC Bank Plc
    8 Canada Square,
    London,
    E14 5HQ

    Good luck.;)
