    Hi there

Of course your not thick, its a fair enough question and remember we all had to learn LOL.......:D.

Right the letter you sent to reclaim is correct, they now have 8 weeks to resolve in full, they should keep you updated on the progress of your complaint, and let you know if they require more time.

Some banks, although this can vary will send their own questionnaires, if they do this then many just ask them to refer back to the letter already send and to refer to the account from when it was sold to you.

Hope this helps, don't worry, you will soon get the hang of it, please keep us posted, good luck.:A

Hi di3004 and thanks so much for your reply.
I haven't sent the letter yet, I just wanted to check before I did but now I will send the letters.

I have 3 store/credit card accounts that had PPI on them which I cancelled in 2008 as it was costing too much, hopefully I will still be able to claim the PPI back as I honestly didn't know at the time about the whole misselling thing, do you think I will be successful as they were already cancelled?:(

I also had PPI on a loan with Black Horse who I remember definetly told me I had to take the PPI in order to get the loan  (because I originally said I didn't want it) so I am going to write them a letter aswell.

Thanks again and I will keep you all up to date. :j

    Hiya hun hope your well.:)

Right, if I have read this correctly, it looks like its been passed on to another adjudicator, they have all sorts of names alongside adjudicator I believe, such as PPI support case worker and others higher that work alongside them, (if I remember this correctly).

With one of mine, it's still waiting to be passed on to an adjudicator, but have in stages been passed from one case worker to another, think I did write something on here about this before.

Hopefully though going by what I can tell of yours, is that a decision is about to be made with the stated manager adjudicator (i think), so hopefully I am right, fingers crossed, but contact them every 2-3 weeks as well if you have the time, good luck X;)

Well I've finally received a letter from them, dated a week ago, thanking me for the postal order and letting me know that they will send me my info by early May. The forty days they are allowed to respond to the data request, is it as they state "upon receipt of the fee" which they received on March 29th??
I guess I should just be happy I received a response!

Cool, so they have confirmed they have received the request, now just keep a check on those 40 calendar days, good luck. :)

hi there,it doesnt matter if you cancelled the insurance, you cancelled when you realised you were mis sold, if you were mis sold you want the ppi with interest back that you have paid. good luck with this and keep us posted

Hi all, I got my loan 3 years ago when I went into the bank to get myself a student account - I was just starting college - and was told I couldn't get a student account for this but was offered a loan with PPI. I'm now in Uni and just finishing up my 2nd year, so for the full term of the loan (thus far) have I been unable to claim as I'm a student and as such can never declare myself as 'unemployed'?
If this is right and I was mis-sold do I just say so in the first letter, adapting the template to suit? Will I need to prove my student status within this first letter?
    Thanks

    Hi there

Well it seems you do have a good case here, so I would certainly give it a go on reclaiming, as a student and not working no more than 16 hours the same time, you would not be eligible to make a successful claim anyway, so do write to reclaim on this.

With your reasons, they have 8 weeks, they may request for further information, if you attended uni over the last 6 years, you may have copies of letters that you can enclose with your letter if you want to, or contact the student dept to request they send you anything they have with dates of when you was in uni. They should be able to send the info on your request.

For more on reclaiming, in the guidelines of reclaiming link below:
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
Do not worry about writing down the amounts, they should supply you with the breakdown if successful, or you can request they send them to you, keep at them, if they don't resolve in your favour by the final decision they should if eligible enclose details of the financial ombudsman service (FOS).
Post your letters by recorded delivery for your proof of posting.

I'm sure you will be okay here, so no to worry, just keep us updated and we can help you step by step of the way.

    Good luck.:)

    Hi there

These questionnaires are becoming popular with some banks, many call them a stalling tactic, but if you have also sent them a reclaim letter, you can write next to the answers in brackets (please refer to my letter you received dated XX/XX/XXXX).
And for any questions in relation to the sale of the policy write (please refer to my account - of when this was sold to me).

To what I know of many do this and they must still investigate by the 8 weeks they have.

So try not to worry, please keep us posted and good luck.;)

We haven't sent any letters yet. I'm just slightly confused, the questionnaire is a stalling tactic? I'm assuming they use the form to stall doing any work? :D Is there a template reclaim letter? I think I'd rather send a simple first to get the ball rolling
