Hi, after waiting another 50 days and contacting my branch again thay sent a letter this morning to say ,theyve persued every available channel to duplicate my statements but as the account has been closed for a long time (2 years) they are unable to help me with this matter, i have rang the ombudsman and theysuggest i ring the information commisioners, i had originally signed up with a company to deal with this so the first letter i sent requesting details was from them, have tried to ring them today and keep getting put in a queue!!! any further advice or help would be greatly appreciated
    thanks

    Hi there

They should still hold your details for up to 6 years at least.

The only thing I suggest is to keep on at the ICO, I know its a right pain, but just a suggestion, the FSA perhaps as well.

Hope this is sorted out soon, complain to the FOS as well.

It doesn't see they are treating you fairly here, its only 2 years gone........, please keep us posted, fingers crossed.;)

    My updates on the refunds.

The FOS updated my hubby earlier this week, the cheque payment is to arrive any day, it should have been today!!! Anyway in the breakdown it shows they forgot to add the further £100 distress payment, the FOS got on to them on hubby's behalf and they are to send a follow on cheque for this, he also received a letter of apology LOL.:D
This is in regards of the Credit Card PPI.

And the 2 loan PPI refunds should arrive in the bank account for next week, this is in calculation to how the FOS calculates.

And another was done separately to this one as I could not at first find the details but did at a later date, so just waiting for a decision on this, can't see there being a problems as its the same reasons, but you never know with LLoyds do you? LOL.:j:j

  • Hi, thanks to your website and the financial ombudsman i have been awarded just over £5000 back in missold PPI charges - only problem the loan has not run its term yet so Barclays now want to rearange the outstanding balance - which is fine but they have informed me that the money owing to me will be put into the new loan account to pay it back early. I have never missed a payment and do not wish to use the money to pay back the loan early.
Can someone please tell me if Barclays have the legal right to do this? surely I have the right to do with it as I wish.

My understanding is that it is a seperate product and therefore should not be considered as part of the loan

Barclays should therefore send you the lump sum and re-calculate the loan as if you did not have the PPI included in the first place.

    Good luck
  • Thats what I thought - trouble is when you dont know what the actual laws on this matter actually state - they can try to bully you into anything.
