I am writing to Lloyds today regarding 2 old loans which i was going to just leave as they date back to 2001 and 2002 and i had put the fact that i had paid ppi down to experiance,

however, because of Lloyds tactics on my current Loan ppi claim i have decided to go after these other 2 LPI policies. one policy for £1,790 the other for £3,500, both were single premium and neither attracted a rebate upon early settlement, and to make things more annoying (following the thead by Marshallka - over insured), i have looked into what i can and can't claim in terms of protection insurance, and with my income protection and mortgage payment prtection (i had and still have) i was already up to my limit on what could be/can be claimed, so the loan insurance policies would never have paid out. its opened my eyes a bit more.

once i get an initial responce from Lloyds i'll start a seperate thread to keep all informed,

Good for you, :T:T, its your money, go and get it back, good luck, and look forward to reading your thread on this.;)

hi there, yes go back to bank and tell them you want ppi paid to date and interest back (ask them how much ppi you have paid then you will know if the offer is right), if the loan is still running you also want it put back to the position it would have been without ppi. if the claims company have dropped your case then you dont have to pay them. good luck and keep us posted (perhaps the company dropped this as it was a small amount? ) i answered this on 31st march, are you no further forward?...

Thanks for your advice, but i ended up having to go through a financial omburdsman service due to it being the banks final offer, but it does seem like a fob off offer your right...

    Hi All
Firstly may i say you guys are all inspirational!!!:T
After reading a lot of your stories i have located two old ( settled)egg loans from 2003 with a total PPI of around £4500:eek:
I know the account numbers and just needed to confirm do i now write to them asking for the repayment of this ammount which i was not really aware of until now. I more or less assumed that i had to take this PPI or i would not get my loan ( silly me!)
I also think i have PPI on old Ocean finance, black horse and bank loans but cant find anything other than the details of the payment on bank statements - would the bank be able to tell me a ref number etc to use to get SAR from these companies?
Any help would be greatly appeciated!

Can people still make claims if the PPI was added many years ago?

providing you have genuine reasons for a miss-sale there is no reason why you can't go back a number of years, for example, i have gone back back 10 years with Barclaycard and been succesful, some on this site have gone back further.

the only drawback to going a long way back is wether or not there is adequate information on what the premiums were and proof there was ppi added if you can't get a copy of the loan agreement and bank don't have one.

good luck and let us know how you get on.
I'm proud to say that the banks no longer take money from me after becoming debt free

    Hello all

I am about to reclaim mis-sold ppi on a loan that we took out in 2005 and settled in March 2007. The original amount of the loan was £10,000 the PPI was £6321.54 :mad:with a charge for credit (of the PPI) of 4804.86.
I don't have the amount of the settlement figure :( but was wondering if anyone had any rough idea of what we should expect to get back......

    Thanks for your help.

hi there, you only get all the ppi back that you paid to date,(not the total of ppi if the loan had time to go and you settled early) i dont know where they get the ppi interest amount from? i would assume that is total interest for the loan and ppi. if the loan was settled early you should have a rebate of the interest to the date you repaid for the settlement figure, and the remaining ppi left on the loan taken off, the ppi you will get back EXAMPLE £60 ppi times 12 months = £720 and you will get the interest you paid on these amounts plus a statutory 8% on top. hope this helps

    Hi amersall

Thanks so much for your reply:beer:

The figures below come from the credit agreement I have

    Loan amount 10,000
    Charge for Credit 7601.60
    Monthly payment: 146.68

    PPI amount: 6321.54
    charge for credit: 4804.85:eek:
    Monthly payment: 92.72

The total monthly payment we made was 239.40 so I guess they were charging us credit for the PPI!

Is that something I should add into the letter and let them work it out or just write that I am reclaiming the PPI?

    Thanks again

hi there, just claim for mis sell of the ppi, they will work out what you are owed, have you paperwork for the settlement figure for the loan as it may be handy to know what you already have had back as a rebate from this loan, when you get a reply from your mis sell, post it here and you will get all the help you need. good luck with this and please keep us posted, if you need any more help just shout! by the way what company was this?

Sorry don't have settlement figure, but can get it so will try.

It was Black Horse. Letter is going off tomorrow because we have 2 loans form them to claim the PPI back from. Hope they are one of the companies who pay out OK.
