Thankyou di, he doesn't have any old statements so I'll have to get a Subject Access Request, what is this? and would I get it from our local branch or do I have to send of for it? if i do have to send off for it, do you know the address to write to? thanks again.x

    Hi there

A SAR is information they hold on the account going back as far as 6 years from now, but sometimes they may hold data going back to earlier years.
So they must supply what they have and send you all the info by 40 days.
Hopefully PPI information will be enclosed, so you will know how much, when it was taken out, and when and so on, and also the calculations.
This can also include a copy of the written transcript phone recordings, however, some will send a recorded disc.

If they are unable to supply none of the PPI, then they MUST return your £10 payment cheque or postal order with a letter to explain.
But I would think this should not be a problem though.

So for this SAR they would prefer a account number in order to find the data, but by giving them as much personal info/details as you can should help.;)

Have a few addresses below - maybe someone who have had dealings with them will confirm which one, or ring one of the tel numbers and ask them just to be on the safe side, remember to post by recorded delivery as well.

Hello di3004 and the rest of the Forum. I received my package from my SAR request to Lloyds bank yesterday. It took me longer than i thought to get things sent off and the bank has replied in about the right amount of time. Wow loads of stuff to plough through. My initial reason for requesting the info was that i have had PPI on my credit card for as long as i can remember coupled with monthly minimum payments (The worst combination i now realise). I have copies of statements starting Feb 2004 to present day and a copy of the Mastercard application i made in 1998. This was an upgrade from a standard credit card to a Gold Account. I remember having the minimum monthly payment on my previous card and i also think PPI but not sure. The previous credit card was started in the late 1980's. I remember taking the minimum monthly amount route as i was in the Navy and didn't want to incur fees from late post trailing me whilst at sea.
From 1998 onwards i have at least twice taken a loan to pay off a maxed out credit card (2004 and 2007 and have evidence of the reason for taking the loans). I believe back in the late 1980's and again in 1998 (i was still in the Navy then) i would have agreed to the PPI and Monthly minimum payment for the reasons stated and therefore piece of mind whilst out of the country. Throughout the remainder of the time from 1998 to present day i have never been advised by the bank to not have either of these options. This is where i believe i have reason to pursue a claim.
Can you good people advise what my next steps should be? Kind regards,
    Paul

Would you have been eligible for cover, doesn't being in the Armed Forces usually go against the cover? Just a thought.
Thanks to all the competition posters.

    Hi there and well done!
Blimey that is a long wait.

Wonder if it would help by writing/emailing the Chief Exective officer (CEO), not sure who this would be but they certainly had ample time to pay this out to you.
You could also try contacting the FSA as well and ask if they can help in someway.

this link is in relation to the FSA.

Good luck with this and hope you receive your money very soon, please keep us posted.;)

    hi di,
its me again lol sorry to bother you but after reading through your posts i was wondering if you could help me. i see that you have gone for mis-sell with the insurer, i have recently received a letter from fos saying they can not investigate the broker as they were not covered by gisc but to go for the insurer. i have wrote to the insurer but i am unsure if it is the right one. how would i find out?the trouble is i no longer have my policy so i can not find out. what happens when you pursue with the insurer?

    Hi Lucie
    Hope your well.

Your insurer details should be enclosed on the Policy details, if you write to the lender they should supply you with these details through the post, your entitled to request for a copy of the policy details at any time.

Sometimes these are not enclosed with the loan documents, even though your supplied with so much paperwork, but if your not sure on who the insurer is they should send this policy separately through the post - I believe by 14 days.;)

You then write to these the same way as you do the broker to reclaim, if they come back and say no, then the FOS is likely to be able to investigate because these would have been covered.

    Hope this helps hun.:)X
