Hi, and thanks for the quick responses :T

Just one more question, do I just send a letter asking them to cancel and refund? I have had a look around but can't seem to find what I'm looking for, do I send the form thing from the main part of this site or are there some template letters knocking around? Not to hot at the old letter writing so have been looking for templates but can't seem to find them.

    Hi there

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

On the link below you will find reclaiming templates, you can use them or as a guide, and also write to cancel on the same letter the same time.

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
You will find them on links further on down the page, template 1 and 2.;)

    Me Again!!!!

I take it I send the form, then the complaint letter if I get no joy from them?

Have had chance since this morning to look at the policy properly and I've noticed that although the loan was in joint names the insurance has only been put in one name, even though we where both working at the time of taking the loan/insurance, so do you think it could be worth a shot going for a full refund? Don't wanna push my luck with them!!

    Thanks in advance x

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone could help me please? After successfully reclaiming PPI back for a loan I took out with Welcome Finance, I've decided to go after Barclays on behalf of my partner. The only problem is that he doesnt have any of the original paperwork/loan agreement etc, he doesn't even know the loan agreement/account number. Do Barclays legally have to give him this if he asks for it? He's tried asking at our local branch but they say that they don't have the information. Does anyone know the address he would have to wright to to get this information? The loan was all done over the fone, & he took it out about 7 or 8 years ago. Any help would be gratefully received, especially as he tried to claim on the insurance when he got laid off, was refused any payout, defaulted on the payements and its now been passed onto a debt collector. thankyou.

    Hi there

What you do is write to the loan broker first, whoever set up the loan for you, and you give your reasons, if by 8 weeks they have not give you the response you want, like upholding in your favour, or just an offer your not happy with then sometimes they give you the opportunity to write to them again with further information.

So basically you keep at them until the 8 weeks are up as this is what they have to deal with your complaint, if they ignore your reclaim complaint then your entitled to move on to the FOS.
However the final response they enclose details of the FOS, so they let you know its the final decision, and you then enclose this copy of the letter to the FOS.

Going back to the reclaiming templates, you will find on the link below:
I would also post your letter by recorded delivery for your proof of posting.
I think you have a good case with being sold one of these costly policies where it only covered the first on, these policies are frowned upon, so I would give it a go, and on the link below you will also come across a checklist of mis selling reasons, if any of them also apply to you then write them as well.
You do not have to write down the amounts though, they should send these if successful or you request they post them to you.

To read more on how the FOS works, so that you know where you are with this, check this out here:
    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm

you will also find the complaints form on their website as well, but you can contact them to send you instead if you want to.;)

Hope this helps, keep at them, good luck.:);)

    Hi there

I would check any old statements if you have these, or request for a Subject Access Request, which costs £10 postal order or cheque payment they then have 40 days to comply, but this way as you not have account number, give them as many details as possible, in order to track down his information, full name, address, date of birth and any different address if at the time it was taken out was different then.;)
