i had my claim rejected 2 year ago and didnt take it to the FOS...

and re-opened the claim recently only to be told to p-off by hsbc as it was more than 6 months from their decision...

Well I would certainly give it a go and also make them aware about the reopening of the complaints which is why you have sent your complaint to them.
I know they have a backlog but I would contact them to chase them up on this just to be sure they have received it, its normally about 3-6 weeks when they send you a letter to confirm they have received it.

Hope this helps, but contact them as well if you can:

    Hi and welcome

If the PPI was mis sold to you for any reason then yes you can still reclaim the PPI you have paid, plus interest etc.

They have 8 weeks in full to respond.
Do not worry about writing down the amounts, they should if successful supply these to you or you can request they send them to you.
You actually write to the ones who set this up for you, so if a broker was used you write to them.

More help with the guidelines of reclaiming, with template letters, a checklist of mis selling reasons, check these reasons in case any of these also apply to
I would suggest as well to post by recorded delivery for your proof of posting.

Hope this is helpful to you, please though ask for further help if required, keep at them and good luck.
    Hi di
much appreciated for your help, this site needs people like u cos i hav'nt got a clue lol.
Before i try the link above i was hoping you could give me some advice.
I recieved a phone call yesterday from FIRST CLAIMS DIRECT saying they would waiver the £95 application fee. so i i told the guy i had looked on this site and seen a few comments on first direct. He said that that was the banik and that they were a different company with claims in as above. I told him i would use the templates and go it alone he seemed understanding but said the bank would probably take advantage and give me alot less back ie if owed £1300 i would get back £1000 with them, as they have specialised soliciters, but would probably get offered about £400 going it alone which i would probably take, being happy getting offered something back. I told him to ring back in a few days as i would think about it and come on here and have a look.
Do you think i stand a chance of getting more money back with. I must admit not sending letters off etc and letting them do it for does seem very appealing. And as i dont know what i am doing they probably would get more back as i would be happy with whatever the bank offered me lol. Also it would probably move along faster as its in there interest to do so.
What do you think and have you heard of first CLAIMS direct?
SORRY TO BE A PAIN, IT IS MUCH APPRECIATED.
    thanks again wes.:):):)
Ps. could u send me that link again as a new user i could not post this message with the link attached SORRY.

    Hi and your welcome.;)

Personally in my own opinion I would not bother, I have to admit I have also taken a risk with a claims company but luckily pulled out on time, as it seems that everyone bless them have been having no end of problems.

I have also spoken to that company some time back and was to what I remember told the same as you, I would not trust them.
If you get the chance read some threads below of these claims companies and the problems they have been having, some have also been waiting 2 years. It maybe the fact that they are not all the same but I believe these problems esculate with claims companies.

They will charge a percentage and if your successful and your case have been upheld then the bank must refund you all your PPI, plus interest etc, basically just like how the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) would calculate ppi refunds, or if they tried it on with an offer your not happy with you can or may have the opportunity to push for more.

Hope this help, and its quite simple, they have 8 weeks in full to respond.
The link to the guidelines of reclaiming is here:

You will find all the info you need on there, but do please ask for further help if required, and post your letters by recorded delivery for your proof of posting.:)

Good luck with this, and please keep us updated if you can, cheers.

steer clear of ANY claim company, they do not get you any more back than what you are legally entitled to , plus you have to pay the company a hefty percentage of your win. (please dont put the name of the company as you are advertising for them!!)

hi there my name is lorraine and i work for the smith claims management company;);)
if you want me to fire a template letter off (that is already printed) i will file a claim on your behalf, for half of your win:p i will post this template letter (the charge for petrol to the post office and the cost of a stamp will be an extra 10% of your win) i do not work on a no win no fee basis:pif your claim does not succeed i will want 70% of what you would have won that will be taken by an attachment to your earnings:D
do i have any takers?... anyone?........no  i wonder why?:p:p:p:p
THIS IS ABOUT THE GIST OF THESE COMPANYS!!!!
