I'm about to make a claim against HFC for a PPI insurance sold to me when taking out a sofa from DFS.

However, I can't find an address to send too. I've noticed a few people have done claims for HFC... what address did you use?

    Thanks

    Darren

    Hi Darren

The address I have in the address thread of HFC is here:

HFC BANK PLC CUSTOMER SERVICES MANAGER,
    CUSTOMER SERVICES,
    PO BOX 2445,
    BIRMINGHAM,
    B1 3PJ
    TEL: 0870 0100453

Hopefully its the correct one for reclaiming, or maybe someone who have dealt with these direct will know otherwise.

If it was these who sold you the finance, then you write to these with your reasons, by giving them 8 weeks in full to respond.
Keep at them and follow the guidelines of reclaiming here:
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
You will come across template letters to help you through this and a checklist of mis selling reasons, if any of them apply to you then write them in as well, post by recorded delivery for your proof of posting.

Do not worry about writing down the amounts though, they should either send you these if your successful or you can request they send them to you in a full written detailed breakdown.

If they do not resolve your complaint by 8 weeks you should have the entitlement to take this to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS), they sometimes give you the opportunity to write to them again, so keep at them until they issue you with the response in your favour, or until they issue you the details of the FOS.

Good luck, please keep us posted and ask for help anytime.;)

Right with mine, it was more or less just a few weeks that LLoyds paid out on mine at the adjudicators stage, with hubby's with it being ignored, I cannot remember on top of my head but I think it was earlier in the year of 2009 it was passed on to the adjudicator maybe April/May, as he sent his complaint to the FOS in 2008, and I think it it was the with the ombudsman about Sept 09 time, he upheld this, and they MUST do an instructed by the actual ombudsman.
However, it was about end of Oct/Nov 2009 my hubby sighed the acceptance slip, FOS sent to LLoyds in Dec 2009, and my hubby been chasing up the refund ever since, so the FOS have got involved as well again by chasing them up, he have been told to expect the cheque through the post any day now.

LLoyds will not any longer discuss this directly with my hubby, as they sent a letter to state they are communicating this one with the FOS.

I am sure yours will be okay though, as some do not wait as long as that.

    Fingers crossed.;)

If the Ombudsman does uphold my complaint I am sure that Lloyds will credit my card account first and if there is any money left over then they will have to send the rest to me.
I take it that your hubby had a nil balance on your card which resulted in them sending you the money.

This will depend if there are any arrears owing, but the interest should be refunded directly to you.

If there are no arrears you have the right to request they refund directly to you, afterall you have been out of pocket due to the mis selling of the product.;)

Hi, Ive had a quick scan through but can't seem to find my answers....

I've just recently started a DMP with CCCS and one of my creditors is Halifax, we took out a loan with them a couple of years ago with PPI, I don't want to reclaim this as I did agree to it at the time but was wondering if I can cancel it? or if because it's a loan it's all added on at the beginning ? Obviously now we're on a DMP we won't be using the PPI.

Thanks for the info, will keep you updated with the outcome.

Its not a massive amount as was only PPI on a 3 piece suite, but it was because we were sold the PPI by the store sales assistant and not a financial sales person, and nothing was mentioned about the PPI really, also as I have 6 month Accident & Sick leave from my work, the PPI is pretty useless anyway.
