hi di i see you have been busy with your kind advice and im going to ask for some now, lol
i recently claimed mine and hubbys ppi back with hsbc, but i have recently found an agrrement that my hubby had in 1996 just before he met me which too was with hsbc. hubby said he was told he needed the ppi, the same as when we took the joint loan, also as he was single he was high risk?
my question is as i have recently claimed with hsbc can i still claim for the loan i have found? many thanks x
Hi lucieloo
Hope your well.
Having the agreement will help, I would certainly say give it a go with those reasons you have.
And it makes no difference if you have recently reclaimed with the same bank, go for it. Good luck.
If you don't try you will never know.;)XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
thanks di, can i just say this site would not be able to know these things without people like you x0

Hi all,
I've been a follower of this forum for many months now and cant believe how helpful you guys all are. Well, after putting off for some time I finally went down to my bank (HBOS) to ask for all details of my current and previous loans regarding PPI as I believe I have been missold. I sent away 3 1st letter templates for each account on 20th March registered post (2nd class :rotfl:)
This morning I recieved 2 letters from HBOS with a copy of my Personal Loan Agreement, which has my signature & date loans taken with PPI highlighted on each copy, the attached letter says "please find enclosed copies of your personal loan application forms" and asking me to contact their insurance department, nothing else.
Im a bit confused, I dont want to phone them as I'd like to keep everything in black & white and also there is no mention of my current loan.
Should I just phone them, my reason for not wanting to phone them is 1, its an 0845 number which I think is very cheeky and expensive and 2, I'm worried the conversation is recorded and I'm put on the spot so to speak and they talk me out of going any further with my claim.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly received
Thanks.

Hiya
I'm sorry to be a pain, but can anyone give me a direct link or something to the 1st letter for reclaiming PPI? I found it a week or so ago, and have come to fill it out and send it - now I can't find it!! It was a letter template with a paragraph about why 'i think I was missold the PPI because....'
Or am i imagining things as I can't seem to find it?

thank you, buts thats the paperwork request one isnt it? i thought i had seen another one saying i think i have been missold becuase...?
or has that been replaced by the questionnaire that I have just seen? Sorry to be so much trouble, but I am getting throughly confused now! It doesnt help that I have flu, or that I am quite dim normally anyway
I have the information, I need to send something in writing to Tesco on behalf of a relative (he'll sign it) to say the he believes he has been missold the PPI on a personal loan due to the fact that a) he was told as he hadnt had an 'official' disgnosis to a health condition he should still take out the ppi and b) on speaking to tesco last week being told he couldnt claim for sickness & he wouldnt be able to claim for unemployment, so there is no point in him having paid out the extra moneyt for something he can n ever use!!
I need something to use to phrase that in a firm and understandable communication lol0 -

Hi Allan and welcome
I would write back and tell them you will only correspond in writing, in case you need to refer to the letters again for your records.
I would therefore ask them to send you any decisions they have made by writing only.
I agree with you anyway, you may get fobbed off on the phone, and its only right for you to have written correspondence - in case you also end up referring to the financial ombudsman service (FOS), if they do not resolve in your favour by the final response.
Good luck with this, please keep us posted.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi Di
Thanks for replying to my message, sorry for the delay in reply.
I do use online banking with hsbc but thought that you could only go back for 3 years and have discovered i can go back as far as august 2001, stupid me lol.
It looks as though my loan was started in dec 01 and finished in july 05.
Is this too far back to claim?
Also did you mean the account number of the loan or the account which i paid direct debit for the loan? i have both account numbers referring to loan as they seemed to of messed things up a bit at the time of setting things up.And also have the same account now which the money was being paid from as this was my current account which is my main account that i still use now. thanks to online statement i could get hold of the loan account numbers.
One of my concerns is that if i ring them to ask all about the loan etc and then put a ppi claim in they will close my account and as this is my main one which has my wage paid into it will cause me a real problem.0 -

Hi there
And your welcome.
Glad you found you could go back to even earlier years, that does help a lot.
Next to the monthly repayment should be the loan account number, so it would be that one you use to reclaim.
So by still having the account number, personally I would go for it, and if you know you had PPI and mis sold this policy.
They must not close down your account, your only reclaiming what you have been deprived of in your own right, so I would not worry about that.
There is a lending code, where it states to treat customers fairly.
And to be honest up to now I have not came across a post where this have happened to anyone else, but please be free to ask or wait to see what others say if you want to.;)
So now you have the account number, I would not ring them - I would continue to write to them to make a reclaim, I would never do this over the telephone, they may try fobbing you off if you know what I mean.
But just as long as you have this number, nothing is stopping you from reclaiming now.

Follow the above link of the guidelines of reclaiming, templates to help you through, also check on the checklist to see if anything else applies to you, they have 8 weeks in full to respond, do not worry about writing down the amounts, they should send these if successful or you can request for the breakdown through the post.
Keep at them.
And post by recorded delivery - for your proof of posting.
Ask for any help anytime as well, and please keep us posted, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
