  • I have a mate who works for a charity and she sends me details of jobs like that, I think I'd be good at that kinda thing tho. I would love to work somewhere else entirely! this summer I am going to do Weekends away to different places - here and in Europe to supress the urge to travel for a bit longer ( all budgeted for and done as Cheaply as possible)

the debt will go down it is the one thing that is going right at the moment, a grand a month plus extras I hope! I must hang on till Easter, and stop letting myself be defined by a man I have no respect for.

    one day at a time.

    xxxx
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • I am wondering, if I paid off a 1000 pounds each month(can during april may june july) - if I can make extra over the summer some how cos I wouldn't have a lot then, (then in sept, oct, nov

but anyhow wrinkles in August aside, I could get down to around 7000 at the end of year. sort of.

I must learn to match bet. or work in a summer camp. I wonder if it still possible to be debt free in Dec or Jan? 16,827 in 9 months.

sorry bit rambly I know, just thinking whilst marking xxxx

Hi Buffy, keep it up with the debt busting.

No doubt, whilst your job is crap, as your debt starts to tumble you might begin to feel more positive about it. At the moment, your job is the only option and it will feel so restrictive, once your have more options available, such as a lower paid job then it might feel as though you have the upper hand.

Keep going hun :kisses3: (at least tomatoes are cheaper than grapes ;) )

  • A mini update.

Well things have been as bad as they can be at work. I have decided to give my notice in just before the next half term. It means I don't have to worry about the head, my boss or any one else at that place after July.

I keep having fits of guilt abut leaving the kids. But that is the nature of the job.

I really let my mind wander last night over what I would really like to do.

Obviously paying off the debt is a huge priority but I don't need to be at my current job to do that. I can get another one and with not having so much work to do in the evenings I could probably make a better go of von and e bay ( I mean without trying I have got six quid this week from e bay I know that is not a lot but I know I would spend more time on delivering books looking for customers etc it would add up.

I am still doing the get depressed and spend money thing and the I don't care about the debt moments. I think (like last time I was on supply) it would focus my mind and the fear of not making my repayments would force me to be more organised and much more careful with money.

I could also do stuff like dog walking and any part time job I can get my hands on ( I know the current economic climate etc) It would be good to feel
free and more in control. Plus of course tutoring and once I drive baby sitting etc.

The second part of my plan, the motivator, the possible reason why I may end up staying at my current job for a bit longer is to go to visit my sister, it was something Chev said, travelling etc and I really miss my sister. I could depending on debts go to the us for 3 or 6 months I would have to investigate working or not working. I have to say it is literally just today i started to think about it.

meanwhile some stuff Linda said on daily chat has got me thinking about changing my current attitude to work.

and that quote, no one can make you feel inferior without your consent.............

    LOTS to think about

well done Buffy, you have made a difficult decision and I think you are doing the right thing. I know you feel guilty about leaving, but you have to think of yourself as well, it's only rair that you do what is best for you. I think you are right about supply teaching, it will make you more focused and you will have more free time to do other things like ebay and avon and tutoring. And there will be no more taking marking and cousework home. :j

What a fabby plan to go to the US for a while. You can make that your target, ie get debts down to £x and you can go there and relax.

I hope you feel like a weight has been taken off your mind and you are looking forward to your future, remember this is our year:j xxx

Well things have been as bad as they can be at work. I have decided to give my notice in just before the next half term. It means I don't have to worry about the head, my boss or any one else at that place after July. :j Regretfully I think you have done the right thing. It is a shame that you will be leaving a job you enjoy because of a to $$er but he isn't going to change is he. Just make sure you leave on a good enough note, that the references he gives are as positive as they can be. You might want to look though at putting in a claim for constructive dismissal if you are effectively being bullied out of your job though:confused: ?

So now the world literally is your Oyster, where would you like to teach? What country? Let alone what county....

Obviously paying off the debt is a huge priority but I don't need to be at my current job to do that. You have made paying off this debt a huge priority, but you can still pay it off and just be debt free slower. And just because you were working in another country doesn't mean you don't continue to service the debts.

I can get another one and with not having so much work to do in the evenings I could probably make a better go of von and e bay ( I mean without trying I have got six quid this week from e bay I know that is not a lot but I know I would spend more time on delivering books looking for customers etc it would add up. I think if you are less stressed you will be amazed how much you make off these. Surely part of the reason for being so half hearted about them is because of how tired, stressed etc you have been. So that there is just nothing left in the tank for extra money raising.

I am still doing the get depressed and spend money thing and the I don't care about the debt moments. I think (like last time I was on supply) it would focus my mind and the fear of not making my repayments would force me to be more organised and much more careful with money. Only you know you enough to make sure that this happens.

I could also do stuff like dog walking and any part time job I can get my hands on ( I know the current economic climate etc) It would be good to feel
free and more in control. Plus of course tutoring and once I drive baby sitting etc. As long as you are not relying on this! And  about still not driving! You are a one. But maybe if you are less stressed because of the job, you will be able to progress better with the driving. So might be a win win there. Of course you have to find the money for the lessons.....

Alternatively, once you finish your current job in July you could go and visit her then and really take a step back from EVERYTHING your mother included and your other sister..... yes I know that you would have to fund this on credit cards but it might be worth it if you got a complete break, AND used it as a fact finding tour to see if you want to teach whereever your sister is. Would she let you live with her whilst you sorted yourself out over there. Would she sponsor you for the immigration stuff?

meanwhile some stuff Linda said on daily chat has got me thinking about changing my current attitude to work.

and that quote, no one can make you feel inferior without your consent............. ABSO FLIPPIN LUTELY.

    LOTS to think about

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

And you know that if you do leave your job your mum is going to go mental. You will need to be prepared to counter her emotional blackmail about staying with her, and know that in reality you leaving and moving on with your life, might just be what SHE needs to move on after your dad's passing

good luck with whatev er you decide

Buffy, well done for making that difficult decision, you will feel a different person once you are away from those poisonous people and have time to re-group.

A brave but COMPLETELY RIGHT decision:T
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.
