Buffy's 18 week credit card free challenge

Hello all,

Well its been an good start to the year in some ways. I have just come back from a weekend visiting my best friend and her family, I am still enjoying my second job and I have managed to stick to my first months challenges of making 150 pounds and only spending 333 as per the 4000 a year challenge.

In other areas - work has been shockingly bad, although the snow has meant a bit of a breather/catch up I really do need to leave as soon as I can because the horrible tension and worry it causes me are affecting my life outside work.

However I need to stay in this job till I am out of debt and have some savings, I am working on the idea that it is better the devil you know and once I am debt free I can afford to take a lower paid job.

So in order to really focus on getting as much paid off as I can,I am doing a mini challenge for the next 18 weeks. I don't know why I picked 18 weeks I was counting on the train and just thought that would be good time. It includes a couple of holiday weeks and is the majority of the school year.

My challenge finishes on the 8th of June and by then I want

1. to have no credit card debt.
2. to have lost 32 pounds
3. to be a size 12/14
4. to be fit enough to run the race for life

I will post my balances in a sec.

Buffyxxx

    Good luck!!
  • Right the sec turned in ages due to bacon sandwich and the annoyingness of online banking.

    my loan is at 14896.61

My Credit cards - the focus for this challenge halifax 0% £2747.72

and then there is the small matter of the Tesco's bill, which was 385 and thankfully was covered by my monthly savings - the emergency fund -the bill is this weekend away and the manchester trip (last month's 200 and this months) . In theory I should not have a tesco's bill again. In theory.

I aim to put every spare bit of cash on the CC, selling on ebay and quidco etc.

I have a headache right now but will be back with more plans later

    Hiya Buffy

Good luck, I think you can do it, you've got the determination and have already paid off a bit.

As promised I'm here to keep you company. Thought I'd chip away at my MBNA card alongside your credit cards. I'm not sure that I can clear it in 18 weeks, but it can certainly have a lower balance by June! Without looking at my signature I can't remember the exact figure, think it's about £2600.

I am a luxury item so won't be able to accompany you in the exercise bit, but I'm happy if you do enough for both of us...:D
