I too didn't get my tesco delivery yesterday. I wasn't expecting it due to the bad weather but a phone call would have been nice. I called the customer services department and got through after being on hold for 40 mins. She told me they cancelled all deliveries at 12 noon (my delivery time was 8 - 10pm) but they hadn't got round to calling everyone - I think it's awful customer service to still be waiting as I was at 10.30pm last night for a phone call. Well tesco, you've lost another customer, I shall be trying sainsbury's online now.Murphy's No More Pies Club Member No. 680

I had an Asda order booked today, fully expecterd it not to turn up/be cancelled as we had heavy snow yesterday, forze overnight and have had even more snow today than yesterday (near to Basingstoke/Reading)
It turned up! Driver was helpful and offered to bring the stuff through as I was holding the baby but as his boots were so wet and snow covered I declined. A very lovely polite and helpful man who I didn't envy at all having to drive about in this weather. Was only 2mins outside time slot which was hugely impressive as I am quite rural and difficult to find even without snow!
Well done Asda. Was very impressed0 -

I can understand the hassle of reordering your shopping but what I dont understand are various different comments about "phone calls" or "little snow" or "depot being up the road". Supermarkets dont have a stash of "shopping pixies" who sleep at the store and clock on ready to do shopping. Nor do they have "driving pixies "who also sleep at the store just waiting to load up the van to do deliveries. My neighbour is a picker for one of the supermarkets and her kids school was closed yesterday and today so subsequently she was not able to go to work. The store was on a minimum staffing level again due to the weather situation and those that did get in were apparently run ragged trying to keep the store going.
I agree, when I was a kid snow came ,you put your wellies on walked to school, your Dad got up earlier than ususal and made his way to work. But Mum was at home to get stuff from the corner shop if needed, more often than not she had enough in to get by . However, life is different nowadays, people live further from their place of work and both parents work hence the joy of online shopping. I think for the two/three days a year that due to inclement weather surely we can cut the supermarkets a bit of slack on customer service ?0 -
Oh Please use some common sense, do you really expect a delivery today in this weather ?.
I live in the very centre of London EC1 and there are no buses, no post, i too was expecting a delivery from Tesco, plus my son's birthday presents I ordered from Lego.com and Play.com it's a pain but I would not want anybody risking their health and safety for something I can wait for.
It's a joke really isn't it, a tiny bit of snow and London grinds to a halt. Though sadly not even a funny joke. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -

Glad your neighbour isn't a member of my staff, i work in emergency medicine and all my staff who answer the phones (mainly married women with kids) managed to get to work as they realise that they can't just not turn up to work as the kids school is closed and make different arrangements for childcare as peoples lives depend on them being there.0 -
I had a delivery set for tonight, not only have Tesco cancelled (fair enough) but this was the first time Ive managed to get a voucher working for months, now ive got to rebook the order, and guess what? The voucher doesnt work. Grrrrrrr.0

Mine was cancelled last night too. Do you usually get an email or your account amended to show it was refunded as they confirmed by phone payment was taken and would be refunded but no confirmation of this.0
