Same sort of offence both committed by thieves, just one drove and the other was a passenger ? I take it he pleaded guilty ? or as he was "forced" did he quite rightfully plead not guilty but unfortunately was found guilty after trial ? just curious.
The car belonged to the boy's parents that was sat in the front passenger seat it was driven by his friend and my son was one of three that was sitting in the back seat , my son was only friends with one of these boy's that was sat in the back and this boy new all the others in the car , he was found guilty of allowing to be carried even though he was forced0 -

The ban begins from the moment the judge orders it. Even though he is not entitled to drive a car as he is too young, being caught driving while banned is a much more serious offence.
Good on you for trying to help your son. Not all of us were perfect children.0 -
how come people went digging up links to the law on getting banned from driving if you're a passenger? I knew you could get banned, just by watching the police footage shows on Sky.0

Oh OK. I see now, that wasn't very sensible of the OP. I apologise for getting the wrong end of the stick.
The thing that worries me is that I have that feeling that more folk should have the thought "there but for the grace of god go I"
We were all teenagers once and we all did some very stupid/silly things that we either cringe at or think gosh we were lucky we weren't caught.
I have a teenage son who has a sporting gift and one would have thought he would be grateful but unfortunately his school work (AS level) is appalling and I think it is starting to affect his sporting potential and I think others are noticing. He has represented his country at U17 but his chances of carrying that on might not materialise unless he pulls his finger out and get's his act together. And he has at that stage wherte it is everyones fault but his.
Teenagers are the most difficult creatures to keep on the straight and narrow.
Get `em a moped
That`ll help :beer:0 -

Some of you would still be out trying to drown women to see if they were witches by the sound of it. Dont know why it was phased out ?
The kid did wrong. Doesn't everyone deserve a second chance. No I'm sure most of us have done things we regret. Yes
I'm not saying getting him a scooter is the wisest but who are we to make a informed judgement on his character. But if he does anything again he should be dragged out into the street and shot! Why not ?

When it is your child this irresponsible moron hits with his reckless driving i think you'll play a different tune. The roads are dangerous places and this muppet has shown already he is not fit to be on it.
One less imbecile on the road if you ask me is good news for everyone.0 -

Have you read any of the thread? The bit about him being a back seat passenger, and not the driver, is the pertinent point.0 -
of course they didn't read the thread. Didn't you know that they changed the rules for internet forums. You now have to read bits of it, make up your own story and reply with a load of pointless b*ll*cks that isn't any help at all.0

I read the entire thread, at no point does the OP suggest that her son accepts responsibilities for his actions. He was the one present in the back of the car, but to this moment he was "forced".0 -
maybe he was forced.. what actions does he need to accept responsibility for? being shoved into the back of a car he couldn't get out of? innocent until proven guilty! if its not proven that he got in the car off his own back knowing what was going to happen then he's innocent.
The last i heard we didn't have kangaroos in our courts.0
