a lot of judgemental people
The lad did wrong, hes been punished
The lady just wanted an answer, not to be slagged off
Perhaps this lad wont be going to college and wants to get a full time job, something that is possible only with own transport, if he couldnt get transport he might just end up being a sit about bum all day
Any way, i assume it would be from the day he applied for the licence, although im not sure that that would be for a car and not a bike?0 -

I got this as a PM! Any of you lucky lot did too??
Its a bit like if you ask enough people someone is bound to agree with you.
Yeah you might of gone through hell with his stupidity and now your on about giving him more. How would you feel if he managed to kill someone with it!0 -
I can take it then that the PM from you entitled KNOW IT ALL, isn't a love letter, so I won't bother opening it.:rotfl: :rotfl:odollybird wrote: »I only wanted abit of advice which the majority gave me thankyou to you all, But NO Thankyou to all the !!!!!Y ONES !0 -
Wow; the hang em high brigade are out in force this morning.
So from what I can gather you all PM each other posts like this one, just so you can stick the boot in? That is quite sad.
As for the OP if I wasn't sure then I would phone up the DVLA and ask them. I hope your lad has learnt his lesson and is getting on with his life now.
I was lucky when the cops stopped me from driving at 15 it was still in the days when the Bobby threatened you with a bit of GBH if he caught you again.0 -
Ah...I see the crazy PM you sent to me was also a post in the main forum.
I was a bit confused to be called claire, but I think you must have muddled me up with c l a i r e above.
It seems rather unlikely that your son was forced to get into that car and I don't believe for one minute your son would get a driving ban for being the unconscious 'passenger' in the back seat of a car. Did the force of the crash throw him into the driver seat? Your lad's been telling you porkies, love. imho you are completely and utterly irresponsible to be even considering giving a scooter to a young boy with a track record like this.0 -

You've misunderstood. The OP sent her crazy ranting PM to everyone who'd replied to her post about her son and his 'joy' riding. We haven't PM'd each other at all.
Nobody is 'sticking the boot in' or having a go. This lady is mental if she thinks giving her teenaged driving-banned son a moped. I'm shocked she's had to come on this public forum to ask for advice because nobody in the real world has told her so already.
We as a country should have zero tolerance for dangerous driving, drink driving, 'joy' riding etc. People die because of unsuitable people getting behind the wheel or handlebars. It's like me saying, 'oh my son accidently shot at a lady in town with his shotgun a few months ago but it wasn't his fault, how long is it until I am allowed to buy him a rifle?'0 -

I agree its a stupid thing to do, but is he meant to not be mobile for the rest of his life?!
He would be better off insured on a moped rather than a car0 -

No that is not the case at all. I have never sent anyone on this thread a PM.
It is the OP who is sending ranting PM's to anyone who disagrees with her.0
