Well i ahve to say at least he seems to realise what he did was wrong.
I dont think buying him a moped is a good idea.
How about make a deal with him that if he gets a part time job and saves his money that on his 17 birthday you will match it. Put it towards driving lessons ob providing he stays out of trouble.0 -
Can you tell me then why he doesnt just get a pushbike like most other teenagers? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Who on earth get's a free moped on a plate anyways, without working their rear end off for it like we all used to do?
That makes me sick. Spoilt kids everywhere, parents to blame.:mad:0 -

We were all teenagers once and we all did some very stupid/silly things
Yes, but speaking personally, nothing actually criminal.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0 -
I'm not a lawyer but I would be willing to put money on the fact you can't get banned unless you are the driver. Like I said i'm only guessing but I'm quite certain.
I have an old mate that was caught as a passenger of a stolen vehicle and all he received was a 'allowing yourself to be carried' punishment. Think he got minimal community service and a small fine. This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.0 -
If he was not driving it why did they ban him from driving ?0

I don't know for sure, but I would have thought that it would run from when he is legally entitled to drive - not sure whether it would start from 16 (when he can ride a moped), or 17 (when he can drive a car).
The ban starts from the date it is imposed by the court, irrespective of the age of the person receiving the ban. Therefore if a 12 year old received a 2 year ban it would expire whilst they were 14.
And to counter the response of "so what's the point of banning them", the penalties available to the court for someone driving whilst disqualified are vastly greater than someone driving under age without a licence.0
