Good luck to you and we both hope you get what should have been given in the first place, you more than us will notice that the stress this puts you under makes the pain seem even worse. the more stressed out you get in Andy's case anyway the more his back goes into spasam the more pain he is in the more the stress rises etc etc. we are guessing it will be the same for you two so any stress relief you get by others helping with the claim the better as then you can just work on sorting out the illness.

I will tell you Andy was upset that someone would say something like that about him on here as he has tried to help many offering empathetic shoulders to them and has never lost his sence of humour. His GP is now on maternity leave and when he went back this week for a follow up on how he has taken to his new medication the doctor did not know what he was talking about and asked what new nerve pills he was due to start lol. he replied " the ones that work" so even the doctor had to laugh at that one.

He still has not had a date yet but are due to go to see welfare rights worker this week and next Saturday he has a follow up with the Consultant at the hospital so will keep you updated.

but if that lady is correct and the truth will win out you know you have the appeal won already so keep your chin up and for goodness sake do not let them grind you down sock it to them.

Well apologies if my comments upset you/your husband, it's a little unclear who's actually posting. (I assume it was my comments you were referring to).

In line with your comment about stress I was sugesting that the DLA issues will add to that and worsen your condition. Far better to try and separate the DLA issue away from the root cause, ie, concentrate on the illness not the benefit side of the situation.
I only entered this discussion to give Blakepops a word of warning as to what can happen if you go the surgery route. I will refrain from posting further if it's causing upset.

However, my complete diary of events may be of interest to you, and I would be prepared to PM this to you, it may make you feel better.

Maintaining a sense of humour is the key;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
  • Thanks Blakespop.

Dan had a slight wobble last nite. It wasn't a full blown fit but he 'forgot' how to turn the xbox off. Its happened a few times and I think it is a fit of some kind and sometimes means there is a big one on the way :(. We will be phoning his specialist Monday about it.

Been to hospital and as said would update here, managed to get a copy of my MRI Scan report printed off. so that should help as there doctor should notice the one thing that is effecting the other IE straightening of back that has happened in last six months is putting strain on the discs that are degenerating.

"Clinical indication: Bilateral L5 nerve root pain

Findings: Straightning of the lumbar lordosis. Disc degeneration at L4 and L5/S1 levels. Central canal dimensions are adequate throughout the lumbar spine At L4/5 and L5/S1, there are central disc bulges which indent the thecal sac anteriorly but do not ressult in any neural compression. The existing foramina are preserved at all levels. No significant facet joint artrosis or posterior ligament hypertrophy. The conus lies at the level of L1/2. Bone marrow pattern is within normal limits."

Doctor is going to inject something into the bone joints direct, in hope that that helps but he said that until they know the spine has stopped straightening they would not feel happy operating so will keep scanning me and once looks stable will do something but until then pain management is only option.
the doctor accepted that the scan was done during one of the better times so gives a slight false possitive outlook, the ultrasound he did was funny, never had that done for this before but....
now on the same patches as before.. buprenorphine transdermal patches 20mcg/hour change that weekly plus

gabapentin 300mg three times a day.

    will keep you all updated

I wouldnt let on that scan results for DLA, its almost normal for anyone 35 or over who has done anything strenuous in there lives, its a lot more positive than negative.

  • Hi hope everyone is well

We had my husbands tribunal appeal on Friday and .........

    WE WON :j:T

We will be getting all our back pay (from Oct last year) and have been awarded it until this time next year when we will have to fill in the renewal pack.

We are sooo over the moon and feel like a huge weight has been taken off our shoulders.

Thank you all for you support over the months and it just proves you DO have to fight for what you are entitled to.

  • Thanks for the replies Guys

Blakespop, I will still be on here every now and then so will still chat. I've got my fingers and toes crossed for you for the 14th July.

I have to say it was one of the most stressful things I have every done and my poor hubby. I though he was going to have a fit at one point where he was getting sooooo stressed. Just waiting for our back dated pay so we can treat ourselves :D
