Dont be surprised if you feel much worse for the first 48 hours, some people do, I always felt like I had been kicked in the back by a cart horse but other people feel better straight away or even no change at all.

We are all very diffrent and so is our particular "mix" of conditions, I hope it all gos well for you.

Had two days of pain and discomfort but now seems like never had epidural at all, pain as bad as ever. DR says may just need amount of injection changed or location of it or even the type of injection but have to wait 6 weeks before seeing consultant. Almost as bad as waiting DLA to decide

Been back to the GP today, few intresting facts, MRI report from hospital was there and is so bad I was shocked. States that shows discs are showing degeneration. this was known from last scan 9 years ago but it fails to state if and how much it has changed. how are we to fight DLA claims if medical reports are so lax and lacking in basic information. would be normal for referance to be made on any changes in the last 9 years as this would have direct effect on pain management. but thats my view and GP did half agree with me to the point that longer management of pain would need doctors to look at all information as consultant has failed to link past tests in his report. no idea how this will go down with appeal.

Have again had medication changed, now have patches buprenorphine 20mcg/hour so will see how these work, never had them or any knowlage of them but told her willing to have legs cut off if would stop the pain.

Still have not had contact from Appeal people about when date will be or even what dates we will be unavailable.

  • Hi Blakespop

Aren't the medical experts just sooo frustrating. And as for ther DLA appeal we are still waiting for a date as well. The only good thing is we now have medical proof (letter from top woman) that other half has severe depression due to his epilepsy and is now having two different lots of counselling for it, so shows that it is getting worse not better.

Hope he gets better soon, hate the way I feel, so useless as a father and as a husband but nothing can do about it. and as my GP is type who listens but does not hear what you say I tend to give up. told her walking upstairs gets me out of breath and i get so tired doing the simple things her reply to that was...." so your ok walking up the stairs then" wonder is she works for DLA medical services with responses like that lol.

  • LOL sorry to laugh but doctors can be a bit of a joke. Luckly there is a new doc at my husbands surgery who seems to actually listen (shock I know) so atleast he feels he is getting listened to there. I think the counselling will really help as I'm sure he doesn't tell me everything cos he doesnt want to upset me. At least this way he can get it all off his chest.

you have to laugh or the stress of all this will be too much. been told by welfare rights worker today that she is booked up solid for next 6 weeks and if my date is in there she will not be coming with us so could have to face this all on our own. as if we needed that news.
