Yes. Formal changing bags inevitably look naff, and are very expensive for what they are. Unless you only like really really tiny handbags, it is always possible to get a large tote bag/shopper in a style and pattern you like, which will have just the same capacity as a changing bag. If you can find one which has two inner pockets (most big bags do IME) that is ideal as you can use one side for food and clean stuff, and the other for dirty stuff and wipes and nappy sacks.

I saw some nice fashion bags which would have been perfect yesterday in both H and M and Accessorise.

You can also use a small backpack if you have one, which is handy as you can be hands-free when you need to be.

  • Moneymaker - glad everything turned out ok for you last night

MFD - FG - you look fantastic!!

Stretch marks - lol I thought I was going to avoid them with dd1  nothing until 36 weeks :rotfl:after ds I went up 3 dress sizes - so you can imagine  by the time dd2 came along I was past careing! I read something about rubbing cream into your bump and surrounding area every day in the 1st trimester, twice a day in the second and thrid trimester and once a day for 4 months post birth - lol I would just forget though!

Helen - I was looking around for travel insurance and the only place that does it* is www.ravenhallgroup.co.uk (although I can't get the site to load with Firefox works on IE though- you need to phone for a quote) Everywhere I looked seemed to cut off @26/28wks but check terms of insurance and airlines - sorry my mind has gone blank - how many weeks are you when you want to travel?! * for 3rd trimester.

jillie - sorry - I am not sure if it was my post yesterday that upset you - or something someone else said? If it was me I apologise :o

and to everyone else too I must seem a little mad :o normal ms to me (with the others) was bubs hitting the eject button at any time of the day/night for months... for some reason I sat down yesterday and got myself into a tizz because I couldn't remember when I was last sick instead of saying YAY! :rotfl::o tbh I had convinced myself we would never get here so being so close to actually seeing tiny one... and we have the pleasure of telling the outlaws (as the kids aren't around) 3/3 times they have never said congratulations:( I guess I am just nervous/excited/and a little bit too hormonal?!

tia - thanks for seeting me straight it did all filter through.

We had our posh meal out last night. Restaurant was very nice and made me a lovely fruit cocktail when I said I was alcohol-free for the night. They were a bit phased by pregnancy though! Although most of the starters and mains were fine, they offered a cheese course before dessert, and when I asked whether any of the cheeses on the board were pasteurised, the waiter answered "No, but they've all been kept in the fridge!"

For puddings, I fancied the chocolate/orange creme but asked the waiter to check with the chef whether there were any raw eggs in it, and if there were to change my order to the raspberry gateau, at which point he looked very confused and said there were eggs in cakes too! Not sure, he really understood why I was asking!!

Agree's with nicki re changing bags. MIL had bought me one which is nice, but tiny, more like a handbag but has a nice mat. Though it only has a handbag handle so useless with my pram. I usually juts get a nice big bag that I like with compartmenst inside. So much cheaper and a larger choice. TKMaxx has some nice bags in.

Just grabbed a bargain! Brand new carrycot for my pram on eBay.... reatil is £90 ex delivery andI got it for .... £43!!!!! :j Now that's MSE (even if I was only looking for xbox controllers) but that is actually my most expensive baby item and I got less than half price! woohoo!!!

yep - you pointed out that it is possible to have the extremes of sickness and that I should be enjoying not having it.

Everyone else pointed out that it is quite normal not to have it!!

lol - should have read my post over once more to check for spelling sorry!

I didn't have any sickness, although I felt queasy a few times in the first few weeks. I didn't actually feel pregnant till my bras and then my trousers stopped fitting!
