thanks mel...
there is one woman in particular who has all these stories about things that happened to someone she knew etc...
i know having cats can be dangerous due to the toxom( ykwim) bug... but the other day she told me not to have the cats sit on me as they can kill the baby!!
the thing is sometimes i do feel nauseous until i eat. but i wasnt sure if thats the dreaded 'morning sickness' the worst i have felt is on my way to dr last friday i really thought i was gonna be sickon the street!!'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
strange... some of the thanks buttons have disappeared...
thanks everyone for your reassuring words'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
MM sounds a bit like what I have - the more I read the more I think it's definitely not SPD (ok - I HOPE it's not) but my hips and lower back are so painful. It's just not central enough for pubic bone etc though.
Mine gets worse if I sit for long periods of time OR if I walk loads (I was a cripple yesterday and sunday after I walked round Ikea at a leisurely pace!). Also found that sitting ergonomically was really painful - after many battles with work they have at least given me a comfy chair even if it break about 50,000 health and safety recommendations. Unlike my alledgely ergonomic chair which gave me shooting pains down my legs from my hips this one I can actually sit in!
Paracetamol btw had NO effect on mineThey have now given me co-codamol - which I'm not chuffed about as I hate taking them... hohum...

Jillie, I was never sick, felt nauseous yes but with both pregnancies I have not been sick.
Also there are loads of peopel out there with cas, if having a cat sitting on your lap vould kill the baby i'm sure it would be very common knowledge and I have never heard of that in my life!
Blimey it's busy in here this morning!:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -

Tell her if she tries to tell you ONE more story like that you'll smack her one... what a load of tosh! Yes you shouldn't clean litter trays or touch cat/dog poop - but cats sitting on you? Nonsense! My smallest one has been happily playing belly warmer for me since early one and bubs seems to have decided that kicking her off is a fun new game  Certainly hasn't reduced the kicking from bubs!
The only thing you have to bear in mind with cats is good hygine - I have gel hand sanitiser around the place and when I finish playing with the cats or fussing them I just give my hands a quick rub as a precaution
Personally though I'd tell her to go take a long walk of a short pier next time she tries to tell you toshDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

I got my first scan today, looking forward to seeing bubs, its not till 11.45 so i gotta wait ages!!!
One of my friends came round yesterday and told me she was five weeks preg and also one of the girls at work told me she too was five weeks preg, on the ward at work it usually happens in threes, so we are waiting for the third person to announce it, the manager will be pleased trying to cover us all on mat leave, oh well thats why she gets paid alot more than me!!:Dalways on the lookout for a bargin always better when its free!!:T0 -
thanks AM
this is the type of things that she comes out with. the worst part about what she said was that my friend lost her first son as he got the cord wrapped too much round his neck and couldnt get free from it.'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
Frankly (and I'm probably going to regret this, but..), I've already lost one - why would I want to up the risk of losing another?! (and yes I do say that knowing skintchick has been through the same thing).
On that note, I'm going to bed. Night all.
BIG hugs, elle. Thats exactly how I felt and the reasoning behind being induced twice (as well as of course I couldn't wait to meet and greet my precious babies!).
I'm a go with the flow kind of girl anyway and trusted the advice of my medical team...and also had no birth plan...just what is safest and best at the time for me and my baby.

Yes it can happen... but nothing you do or don't do will prevent this. She sounds like a very very inconsiderate person frankly - when you're pregnant you will scare yourself senseless anyway - there is certainly no need for her to give you the ultimately worst scenarios!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more!
