Our area is term+10 (saw it in the info booklet I have with my notes earlier).

By my LMP (28 day cycle) my due date is 10th July but by the 12wk scan (at 11+1) it's 19th July.. can't work out what, if any, bearing that has on when it'll actually happen

They can't do anything when you're pg anyway. No harm in mentioning it (although yr mw may want to check it for herself!!!). I'm to get mine 'looked at' at 8 week check up and take it from there - although it's def I need something doing to it, just not sure what yet (and I'm staying away from the hyst word:eek: , even though that's what they've mentioned - I may be coming up 39 but I'm still too young for one of those!!!!!)

Pelvic floor exercises can help minor p's, I believe. And a p can make stress incontinence worse (although not always, apparently) And you can have things like TVT (google it for info) Ooh - that reminds me - google something like pelvic floor partnership (think that's the site) - quite good info, from memory (hmm- what's a memory........)

You can take a guess as to what the 'something' encroaching is - if it's at the top and is hard cartilage type stuff to feel it's possibly your uterus - a bulge at the front of your v is poss your bladder, and a bulge at the back is poss your rectum..... (Hubs went for a full medical last week and I said he had to have finger test for prostate, but dr refused :( Still had to have his danglies cupped and do the coughing thing and then the back danglies squished a bit to check for lumps - I said it's nothing compared to what we endure tho'!)

off to bed in a mo, methinks!
Thanks misses!! I shall peek the links in the morning, I think it's my bladder and was sort of expecting it due to my non existent pelvic floor muscles, although I haven't been warned by any medical peeps about it!

The Dr refused?!!?! My poor hubby has IBS so often gets bleeding from back there and therefore ends up having it checked out by the doc:o

If they changed you "official" due date then it would mean that they would like to induce you on 29th which if ur original dates were correct would be 42+5

If Chris had stayed put until I was induced he would have been induced past 44wks  good job he came when he was ready!! I knew when my baby was due but the medics just ignore the mother too often

According to my research, scans are more accurate than LMP dates, so I'd go with July 19th. My due date by scans is 20 July but I'm working on 27 July on the basis that first babies are often a week 'late'. I tell everyone 'late July/early August' and refuse to be any more accurate.

I like ur style Skinty ;)
The best thing about having incorrect dates for Chris was that no-one knew I had gone over so no "hasn't he arrived yet?" phone calls

Exactly! My baby will arrive when it's ready, not before (assuming no medical emergencies). As long as I never tell anyone the date (only me and OH and you ladies know for sure) then they can;t hassle me :D

Yes, the risk of the baby being stillborn does pretty much double from 40 to 42 weeks.

Do you need to hear any more

OMG - if there was ever a reason to make sure you don't go beyond the 2 weeks.

Sorry skinty but I find it frightening that anyone would consider it....

Edited to add - maybe it is because I know a couple who went through this...not saying that anyones decision is wrong. The whole idea makes me want to cry.

I have also put a maternity mat on top of it to 'protect' the seats of hubbys car...just in case!
