  • Given the stats sami - I can't see why you would want to...

They won't let you go to 2 weeks here anyway (thank god). They book to induce at 10 days and apparently if you beg they will let you go to 12 days but no longer...

(although not sure how they would force you)

The only reason I can see is if you are convinced that your dates aren't right...but even then why would you want to risk it...and by 42 weeks you will be so pee'd off that carrying on waiting (and taking the chance) wouldn't be anywhere on my list.

Frankly (and I'm probably going to regret this, but..), I've already lost one - why would I want to up the risk of losing another?! (and yes I do say that knowing skintchick has been through the same thing).

On that note, I'm going to bed. Night all.

I think we'll be best to agree to disagree in the going past thing:cool: I may feel different if/when the time comes and hopefully I won't get to that point.

someone said earlier that they can't force you, unless they had you sectioned and I doubt they would be successful in that and you would probably go into labour before they did.

I know my dates are VERY accurate and I really wouldn't want to go to 43wks (on a selfish note my b-day is 20 days after EDD)

and Elle I haven't experienced losing one and would probably feel different if I had, I will never be able to know what you went through(hopefully I'll never know *touches wood and crosses everything!!*)

And on that note I too shall get off to bed :D Love to ladies, Bumps and poor OH's

What exactly do braxton hicks feel like. I should know really with this being my third baby but i am not so sure i have had them before. However this time I too get incredible pain when walking and have done for 2 weeks now. Much like a really bad stitch to the point i can hardly walk.
I describe them as the whoe tummy tightening, shouldnt in theory be painful, but can be uncomfortable.

Jillie - DON'T LISTEN TO THEM!!!!!!!

For some reason people love to scare pregnant ladies and will tell them all kinds of scare stories, stupid people:mad:

I have NEVER had morning sickness and I am on baby 3 (pg 5)...The most I have had is with this one a little bit of a nauseous feeling which went away as soon as I ate something:)

Personally I'd rather bubs was a little early than late. I know the figure is low for still births even when the odd double but there is no way I'd want to risk it... It's just a gamble I'd never be able to live with if the worst happened. I wouldn't be able to wake up and look in the mirror at myself knowing an action I took or didn't take directly effected my baby's chance and I might have inadvertently killed it...
I appreciate we all have different views which is what makes this thread so great but no... I'm VERY firmly in the "40 weeks? Get her outta there!" camp...
Yes people have coped since the dawn of man, and they still do in 3rd world countries. Unfortunately still births and deaths in pregnancy was/is also a LOT higher in those areas/times. We have developed a superb (most of the time) medical care system - I think it's silly to not take advantage of it... it's surely part of our evolution? :)

Jillie - not having morning sickness is normal - not everyone gets it and people get it for different time spans - I had it till week 18 (SUCKED!) but a lady I worked with had none at all (lucky moo) - so I'd just say enjoy not developing a close relationship with your bathroom and toilet :)

I guess this might be a "it's different for everyone" question, but will ask anyway..

When baby's movements get strong enough for me to feel them for definite, how many times a day do you tend to feel it? At the minute, it feels a bit like bubbles popping or swirling/spinning movements and lasts a few minutes at a time, maybe 3-4 times a day. What's the next step?

Thanks (if you even get what I mean!) :D
Give it a few weeks and you will be cursing bubs for not leaving you alone! :rotfl:
