due date today, not looking like anything might happen, but did go 13 days over with ds, wouldn't mind if bump stayed put till the weekend, as the older kids will be back to school on Monday. And we still don't even have a name never mind a shortlist of names.

To all you SPD sufferers, do you ever get a sharp pain on your minnie bone bacsuse of it?
I'ts been getting progressively worse over the last few weeks, and since yesterday i've had a horrible sharp stinging pain on my minnie bone, thats the only way I can describe it, it's agony.

    thanks AM
this is the type of things that she comes out with. the worst part about what she said was that my friend lost her first son as he got the cord wrapped too much round his neck and couldnt get free from it.

Jillie I really don't know how you have been so restrained with her!
I'm a bit of a hot head and if someone said that to me I think I would most likely have given her a slap!!
The cat on lap thing is an incredibly old wives tale and as with lots of OWTs its complete nonsense!
I spoke to a MW with my first preg about the cat/toxoplasmosis thing as I used to change the cat litter at the in laws as I practically lived there so took it as one of my chores.
The MW said that the risk is actually very low but because if you were to catch it it is very serious they make sure you are scared so you're careful.
She also told me that if you've had cats for a long time ie 5yrs or so you would most likely have had it before without knowing or be immune to it, just practice good hygene and you can change the litter but wear gloves and wash hands afterwards and wash hands after stroking your cat etc :D

MM sounds a bit like what I have - the more I read the more I think it's definitely not SPD (ok - I HOPE it's not) but my hips and lower back are so painful. It's just not central enough for pubic bone etc though.
Mine gets worse if I sit for long periods of time OR if I walk loads (I was a cripple yesterday and sunday after I walked round Ikea at a leisurely pace!). Also found that sitting ergonomically was really painful - after many battles with work they have at least given me a comfy chair even if it break about 50,000 health and safety recommendations. Unlike my alledgely ergonomic chair which gave me shooting pains down my legs from my hips this one I can actually sit in!
Paracetamol btw had NO effect on mine :( They have now given me co-codamol - which I'm not chuffed about as I hate taking them... hohum...

Ah - but Pelvic Girdle Pain encompasses (sp?!) SPD and a more sciatica type pain. I do have some central pubic bone pain (getting worse this past week)but the majority of mine is PGP radiating from my left buttock down my left leg -sometimes just minor twinges, other times so painful I can't put any weight on it - and it gets worse if i've been active earlier that day / previous day (eg: walking (not even that far in real terms :() or getting jiggy:p ) Older MWs may call it 'just' sciatica, but PGP is more common in pg than sciatica - and you can go to your physio dept for it

OMG Im getting lost on here, it moves soooo fast in comparison to the ttc thread  :D

Has anybody had a private scan done at 12weeks and managed to find out babys flavour?
We are going to Florida in May when I'll be 17weeks so before 20week scan but we want to find out if possible what we are having so we can hit the malls over there!
Oh, and am I totally mad for not wanting to cancel the holiday??!

Generally the earliest they can tell from a scan is around the 16 week mark - but even then it's more of a %age estimate of one sex, I believe.

And no you're not mad - I'd say you'd be mad to cancel the holiday!! I've been abroad with 4/6 pgs - anything from 4 weeks to 28 weeks (2 didn't stay the course, but nothing to do with the hol!) You won't be very big so you shouldn't be too uncomfy, so go for it!!

Where I'm going for a 30wk scan says "We are able to perform 4D sexing scans from 16 weeks onwards. Sexing scans are 97% accurate." so you could book one for just before the holiday :D
I wouldn't cancel hoilday either, there's really no reason to provided you're having a "straightforward" preg

I get a really bad sharp pain in the middle of my 'minnie' bone (It also now clicks when the baby kicks me there!), bad sharp pain on both the joints at the back (sort of above each bum cheek) and aching and numbness on both hips joints, and numbness down my legs when I sit down. Any sort of pelvic pain, I've had it!
