with prescriptions i got a form from the midwife to send off to get them free. Do I have to wait to receive something back when this has been sent?
Well done on getting your form, some of us haven't even had these yet!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Hiya ladies, I hope you don't mind me coming on here, I'm a student midwife and just wanted to know what concerns people have etc, I must say you're all very good at answer each others questions!
Just wanted to add - Moneysaver - The first lot of bloods will test for:
Blood Group and RH status
Any Antibodies
Haemaglobin estimation
Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia
Hep B
Rubella
Syphilis
HIV
and lastly your Glucose amount.
So tiamai_d go most of them! Also do not worry too much about needing to take iron supplements, many women take them and have healthy pregnancies. Hopefully your doctor will clear up any questions you have.
Good luck to you all during your pregnancies, I wish you all the best:xmastree:Christmasaholic and proud! :xmassmile0 -

I guess I should be greatful... my MW might have the sense of humour of a bald man at a hairdressing convention and the personality of a borg... but I got my form and it was filled in AT my first appointment with her - so at 8 weeks. I'm not sure which I'd prefer though... nice or efficient... mmmmmmDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Well Tine, my midwife is lovely... But I've only met her once... The last midwife I saw just wanted me in and out as quickly as possible and had no personality... the other couple I've seen have been OK... But there's no continuity of care,... Think that's why I haven't had any of my paperwork... And the stoopid aneasthetist I saw last week spoke to my chest and the paperwork in front of her, she didn't once look in my face... But then she didn't talk about aneasthetics either... Stoopid woman!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I'm not sure if it's the most common problem in pregnancy, but I'd say about 1 in 5 will experience it in their pregnancy, just continue to eat well, lots of fresh fruit, veg, red meat, and you can also take vitamin C to aid in any troubles you may get in going to the toilet (i'm anaemic and trust me vit c is a godsend, otherwise its a real pain in the bum, literally! hehe) It's normal to worry though, just try and keep your mind busy until your appointment, I'm positive it will go well if your gp does say you're anaemic.:xmastree:Christmasaholic and proud! :xmassmile0

Thanks Elle, Portsmouth was great. Kids loved the dockyard, every other word was 'cool'! Never gonna call my kids a tow-rag again though!!!
Right, mice eating chocolate, cars needing engines and poor Krystal and her broken down appliances, fantastic though that everything's ok with Caz.
Eyes have gone all googlie trying to catch up, oh yeah and re: maternity pads from past experience I ended up buying ordinary always ultra nights as they were more comfy, but that's just me.Too many children, too little time!!!0 -
I did the same Tara, think it was just the always super... Haven't even thought about them yet... When I stepped down as a director they gave me a lovely basket with baby things in and there were some maternity pads in there... And I think I might have some old night time pads upstairs... I've been a mooncup user for so long it'll be wierd to use pads!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls...
